Our Chalk River location is looking for a Senior Safety Specialist to support the implementation of the OSH (Occupational Safety and Health) program. If you answered yes, then this may be the job for you! What will you be doing! Performing analysis of trends, data or performance information. Tracking requirements applicable to the OSH Program. Assessing the applicability of laws, statutes, regulations, guidelines, codes, and standards for the HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, Environmental) Program. Speaking to audiences regarding OSH Programs and Standards. Providing oversight through ongoing performance monitoring, assessment, and evaluation to ensure that OSH program standards and expectations are met. Developing, improving and maintaining policies, procedures, and other supporting materials. Participating in or leading program audits. Preparing reports and providing input to employee manuals, safety procedures and company policies. Preparing OSH information for publication. Other duties as assigned by your manager. What We Are Looking For Education Meet educational requirements for designation of either CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) or CRST (Canadian Registered Safety Technician). Must either have the designation or be eligible and willing to obtain the designation. Experience Minimum ten years of safety-related and relevant experience. Preference will be given to candidates with experience gained in a nuclear environment. Extensive experience in supervising teams, with a proven track record of fostering high performance and employee engagement. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Consistently prioritizes safety in all activities and decisions. Ability to promote a culture of safety within the team, encouraging others to adopt safe practices and adhere to safety protocols. Ability to interpret federal and provincial regulations and clearly communicate impacts to CNL, facilitating resolutions. Manages resources effectively, optimizing both human and financial capital to achieve business targets. Ability to provide clear direction, support, and mentorship to team members, facilitating their professional growth and development. Security Clearance Eligibility Required Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, NewZealand, the UnitedStates and/or the UnitedKingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's Standard on Security Screening and the Policy on Government Security. Working Conditions Ability to perform work on your feet for extended periods of time, confined spaces, stairs, ladders and rough terrain. Five (5) days per week, eight (8) hours per day for a forty (40) hour work week. Why CNL?
