What To Expect As an innovation leader, we look for ambitious, forward thinking, open-minded and well-rounded individuals to join our global team as a District Sales Manager. You will be working remotely out of your home office and will be responsible for traveling to and selling Gates products throughout the assigned territory. You will be responsible for selling and promoting the Gates Fluid Power and Power Transmission product lines. Your territory will be Quebec and Ottawa. Your goals will include meeting or exceeding an annual sales quota along with achieving specific strategic initiatives which align with higher level organizational goals. You'll use a consultative selling approach, your technical expertise, and ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with both distributors and end users towards these goals. You will research customer needs and develop an understanding of their applications, then apply the proper Gates technologies to improve their overall cost of ownership and productivity. You will work in collaboration with an amazing group of individuals at Gates, across all business functions. Key Responsibilities (to Name a Few) Developing and executing growth strategies for both existing accounts as well as new prospective customers. Accelerating growth of new Gates products and solutions. Pursuing opportunities to expand our business in new markets. Maintaining an up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments within our target markets. Making regular sales calls to pursue and discuss opportunities, providing training and other technical support, and increasing overall mind share. Following up on leads (both self-generated and provided through marketing initiatives). Timely and accurate utilization of our CRM systems. Developing and maintaining short, mid, and long-term sales plans. Communicating high value sales activity to contribute to effective product and service planning. Providing top-quality, Gates customer service for all clients and prospects. Monitoring and communicating competitive activities to identify opportunities and/or countermeasures. You will be responsible for selling Gates' products in a geographical area. Research customer needs and develop application of products and services in an effective manner to determine market strategies and goals for each product and service. Take responsibility for and making every effort to resolve communication, trust and respect concerns and problems. Implement strategies to accelerate growth of new and additional products and/or new markets. Monitor competitive environment to identify opportunities and countermeasures to address competition. Has primary accountability for the performance and revenue results in a geographical area and additional accountability for strategic initiatives; manages established accounts in a specified geographic area. About You 3 years of progressive sales experience or equivalent industry knowledge High school degree or equivalent work experience is required. College degree in a business or engineering field is preferred. Experience in selling Fluid Power and/or Power Transmission products is highly preferred Firm understanding of the MRO business is preferred CRM experience is preferred Must be proficient with the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Ability to drive long distances for extended periods of time Relocation is not provided Travel required for this position is 50-70% Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.
