This role represents Kent in the field and serves as the primary technical interface between Engineering, Construction, Quality, Contractors, and the Client. The Field Engineer provides realtime technical support to resolve constructability, design, and installation issues, ensuring engineering intent is correctly interpreted and executed in the field. This is a sitebased, handson role requiring sound engineering judgment, decisiveness, and the ability to operate independently with minimal homeoffice support in a demanding industrial environment. This is a flyin/flyout project with a 9/5 shift schedule, 12hour shifts, and camp accommodations at Wapasu. Responsibilities Field Support & Technical Guidance Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, geotechnical requirements, vendor drawings in regards of the equipment installation requirements, and work packages to respond to the contractor technical queries. Review asbuilt piling records and interpret in regards of the design requirements and pile installation criteria Review structural and civil work records and interpret in regards on the design requirements Provide realtime technical support to resolve constructability, design, and installation issues. Support troubleshooting of civil, structural, architectural and related interdiscipline issues in the field. When requested, provide site information and field data to the Home Office to support engineering design development. Support development of smallscale field scopes as requested by the Clients Construction Management Team (CMT). Construction & Execution Coordination Work closely with the Client to support construction execution activities. Ensure contractor technical queries (TQs), including Requests for Information (RFIs), are addressed in a timely manner. Participate in field walks, as requested, to verify execution of RFI responses and develop punch items. Assist in verifying that work aligns with approved engineering deliverables and project requirements. Collaboration & Communication Act as a liaison between Home Office Engineering and Client Construction and Quality teams. Participate in daily and weekly coordination meetings, providing updates on contractor queries and engineeringrelated matters. Communicate technical information clearly to both engineering and nontechnical stakeholders. In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other adhoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee''s skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee''s current workload and with respect to their professional development. Qualifications Bachelors or greater degree in Civil/Structural Engineering. 10+ years of relevant engineering experience in oil & gas, mining, or heavy industrial projects with minimum 2 years of field engineering experience in oil & gas projects. Experience in oil sands mining, SAGD, or largescale industrial projects is a strong asset. Technical Skills Strong understanding of civil and structural design, typical engineering solutions used in projects in Fort McMurray area, construction methods, and engineering drawings. Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (NBC (Alberta edition), CSA S16, A23.3, A23.1/A23.2, PIP, OHS and others). Proficiency with tools such as Navisworks, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office. Communication Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal. Ability to clearly communicate technical information to stakeholders. Behaviour/Core Competencies Strong problemsolving skills with the ability to make sound engineering decisions in the field. Able to make decisions quickly and confidently with minimal Home Office support. Calm, reliable, and solutionfocused in highpressure, fastpaced environments. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
