Our client, a Major Big 5 Bank, is currently looking to hire for a Corporate Actions Analyst to join their Team in downtown Toronto. The role is best suited for candidates with 3-5 years of corporate actions experience with a background with CDS and DTC. Job Duties Full understanding of end-to-end processing of the corporate action lifecycle, from announcement capture through to the final entitlement reconciliations Daily liaison with trading desks, ops groups, accounts and institutional counterparties to ensure efficient processing of elections and entitlement setups Collaborate with internal and external groups as necessary to assess procedures, identify gaps, and implement enhancements Daily monitoring and clearance of cash/stock reconciliations Work with the team manager to fulfill yearend/midyear reviews and individual goal setting Able to adapt to future departmental projects, including integration of voluntary corporate actions processing into the new inhouse entitlement tracking system (EnTrack) and the external vendor system Create and maintain process and procedure documentation Manage and monitor complex corporate action types that carry significant risk Monitor short positions and pending trades to mitigate risk, ensuring the firm avoids overextension or effectively manages potential liability during event windows Make independent decisions within established guidelines and Letter of Authority to resolve or escalar problems, including system, software, and hardware failures Escalate all unresolved processing issues to appropriate level as per guidelines Develop initiatives to avoid repetition of operational issues Act as SME in Corporate Actions & Entitlements Maintain key controls and review processes quarterly Identify potential risk situations, make recommendations or escalation, and ensure contingency plans exist Contribute to risk management and minimize losses through monitoring and controlling various reports, ensuring compliance, audits, and verifications meet Bank P&Ps Must Have Experience / Skills 3+ years of experience in asset servicing, with at least 3 years in a voluntary corporate actions role at a top/midtier broker dealer or bank Strong working knowledge of Canadian BPS, CDS, DTC and Microsoft Office applications such as Excel Experience servicing foreign custodians and working with North American firms Additional Skills & Qualifications Prime Brokerage Experience Undergraduate degree with a solid mathematics component or equivalent depth of knowledge via experience/training Broadridge System Experience VTC/CVS Employee Value Proposition (EVP) Opportunity to work for a big 5 bank and potentially be transitioned permanently Work Environment Monday to Friday, 9:00AM to 5:00PM EST (Slight flexibility potentially required).
