Edmonton Catholic School Division (ECSD) is looking for a SpeechLanguage Pathologist to join our 100 Voices Early Learning program. The SpeechLanguage Pathologist will work as a member of the multidisciplinary classroom team to provide culturally responsive speechlanguage support to children aged 35 years old with diverse learning needs. Programs are inclusive and welcoming to all children, and an understanding of the Pyramid of Intervention is essential. A key part of the role is collaborating and communicating with the classroom to build capacity and promote childrens growth and success. This position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found. Responsibilities and Activities Provide consultative and direct services and supports to schools and families for preschoolaged children who have identified moderate to severe delays in speechlanguage development Administer, score, and interpret speechlanguage assessments to support applications for Program Unit Funding Contribute to the development of Individual Program Plans (IPP) and recommend appropriate communication strategies and programming for students Implement lessons and activities to address individual student goals Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to speechlanguage assistants in the implementation of targeted and specialized strategies Liaise closely with teachers, Educational Assistants, Therapeutic Assistants, and other members of the school team, including multidisciplinary team members Support the generalization of intervention strategies to all natural environments, including the classroom, home, and new environments Participate in the development and delivery of professional development for Division staff in the areas of specific communication disorders, expressive language, receptive language, literacy, social communication, speech sound production, assistive technology, and alternative/augmentative communication Qualifications Masters degree in SpeechLanguage Pathology Registered with the Alberta College of Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA) and hold a valid practice permit Three or more years of related experience in early learning classrooms is desired Excellent communication, collaboration, and consultative skills Registered with or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA) Knowledge of the selection and design of alternative and augmentative communication systems What We Offer 100% employerpaid benefits including extended health, dental, vision, life insurance, and disability benefits and a $700 Health/Wellness spending account (prorated based on FTE) Employee and Family Assistant Program (EFAP) provides access to employees and dependents to confidential support services including mentalhealth counseling, health/wellness coaching, legal and financial advice, and other forms of support Paid Time Off Vacation Starting at 4 weeks (based on a 1.0 FTE, 12month position) Personal Days 5 days (based on a 1.0 FTE, 12month position) Christmas Break Division directed leave with paid days Worklife balance 35hour workweeks, 7hour workdays (based on a 1.0 FTE) Recreation Centre Discounts (City of Edmonton, YMCA, and GoodLife Fitness) Bell Mobility exclusive partner program offers (for personal phone plans) #J-18808-Ljbffr
