You will work closely with engineering, product, security, and business stakeholders, contributing both highlevel architectural leadership and handson technical validation. This role is ideal for someone strong in cloud systems design who also enjoys prototyping and rolling up their sleeves. Key Responsibilities Architecture & Systems Design Define and document reference architectures for live and VOD workflows (ingest transcode/packaging storage CDN/edge playback analytics). Select and integrate cloud building blocks: containers/Kubernetes, storage, databases/caches, event streaming, CDN/edge, observability, identity/security. Design for scalability, reliability (multiAZ/region), cost efficiency, and operational simplicity using IaC and GitOps. Video Pipeline & Playback Architect contribution and ingest paths (SRT/RIST/RTMP), transcoding/transmuxing, and HLS/DASH (CMAF) packaging. Evaluate and integrate codec strategies (H.264/AVC, H.265/HEVC, AV1), ABR ladders, and lowlatency modes (LLHLS, LLDASH, WebRTC/SFU). Develop DRM and key management strategies (PlayReady, Widevine, FairPlay) using thirdparty vendors or inhouse KMS. Guide player integration (web/mobile/TV) and define playback telemetry (startup time, rebuffering, bitrate distribution, error rates). Cloud, Networking & Edge Architect solutions on Azure/AWS/GCP (preferably Azure if applicable) using AKS/EKS/GKE, Event Hubs/Kafka, Redis, and object storage. Design CDN/edge delivery using Akamai, CloudFront, Fastly, or Azure Front Door, implementing tokenized URLs, geo/IP rules, shielding, and caching.
