Your Opportunity Reporting to the Manager of Medical Workforce, the Advisor is a driving force behind physician workforce planning and recruitment for Covenant Health and Covenant Care. They partner closely with clinical operations and medical leaders to shape annual workforce plans, anticipate staffing needs, and design proactive recruitment strategies that keep services strong and sustainable. In this fastpaced role, the Advisor leads daytoday recruitment effortswhether filling positions identified in workforce plans or responding quickly to emerging vacancies. They scan for new opportunities, identify target markets, and craft creative approaches to attract top physician talent. The advisor builds strong relationships with medical leaders, community partners, and prospective candidates, creating a network that fuels successful recruitment. As a key member of the Medical Workforce team, they initiate and coordinate tasks related to physician appointments and privileging and work closely with Medical Affairs teams to ensure smooth onboarding, education, and integration. With a blend of strategic insight and handson execution, the Advisor provides guidance to colleagues and contributes to a cohesive, forwardthinking approach to physician workforce development. Description The Advisor leads physician workforce planning for assigned Covenant Health and Covenant Care sites, developing annual department and provincial workforce plans that include goals, workforce analysis, forecasting, gap identification, and actionable recruitment strategies. They facilitate annual and multiyear planning discussions, prepare the provincial workforce plan for review, monitor progress, and maintain accurate workforce data. Using workforce insights, they shape targeted recruitment plans and implement strategies to address both planned and adhoc staffing needs. The Advisor develops recruitment cases, creates and vets job advertisements, coordinates posting and outreach, and partners with HR Talent Acquisition to identify candidates. They support interview scheduling for senior medical leadership roles, draft letters of offer, and provide guidance on policy and bylaw interpretation. For hardtorecruit roles, they coordinate LMIA applications and assist international candidates with workpermit processes. They also manage recruitment processes for medical leadership searches and support provincial workforce committees through reporting and documentation. The advisor represents Covenant on rural recruitment committees, builds connections between candidates and medical staff, recommends recruitment events, and participates in conferences to strengthen engagement. Operationally, they contribute to departmental planning, identify emerging workforce challenges, support policy development, and assist with training and process updates. They coordinate logistics for recruitment events and ensure smooth handoffs to Physician Workforce Assistants and Onboarding Advisors, including integration support for international recruits.
