We currently have an opportunity for Strategic Sourcing Manager Marketing to develop national sourcing strategies against various business objectives for internal clients. You will be an expert in indirect procurement with superior communication and negotiation skills. The purpose of this position is to deliver measurable value by reducing total cost, improving ROI on marketing investments, increasing efficiency, and mitigating supplier risk, while embedding sustainability and innovation. In addition, the role will elevate the Strategic Sourcing brand internally by consistently demonstrating professionalism and strategic influence, and by championing the adoption of Sobeys Strategic Sourcing Suite and approved AI technologies to drive digital transformation and greater business impact. What Youll Be Focusing On Project & Category Management Manage spend categories including marketing media, agency, print, public relations, meetings & events, market research, shopper marketing, and creative services (with potential for additional categories). Develop national sourcing strategies to deliver against business objectives for internal clients. Build annual category plans for marketing spend and secure alignment with Finance and business leadership. Incorporate multiyear category strategies beyond immediate sourcing events. Supplier & Risk Management Collaborate with the COE team to integrate SRM frameworks, KPIs, and scorecards. Incorporate risk management, including market volatility and contingency planning. Evaluate supplier competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models and benchmarking. Manage sourcing fundamentals: RFx, spend analysis, contract analysis, bid evaluation, negotiations, and supplier consolidation. Strategic Sourcing Process Develop and present sourcing business cases (executive summaries, spend analysis, supplier landscape, market analysis). Prepare robust sourcing strategies using RFx methodologies and esourcing tools. Build cost savings models and quantify benefits with ROI timelines, payback periods, and costbenefit scenarios. Develop implementation plans with milestones, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies. Establish measurement frameworks (savings, supplier performance, cycle times) and provide governance updates. Stakeholder Engagement Partner with Finance, Contracts Management, Legal, IT, and Marketing leadership to ensure alignment. Lead supplier engagement requests from business units, aligning deliverables with Sobeys procurement policy. Prepare and hold business reviews with stakeholders to assess vendor performance and opportunities. Provide regular status updates on sourcing projects to leadership, ensuring visibility into progress, risks, and key decisions. Drive change management and influence stakeholders to adopt sourcing strategies. Value Creation & Innovation Drive value in supplychain/totalcostofownership initiatives through early engagement, market knowledge, and negotiation. Embed sustainability and ESG goals, including supplier diversity and ecofriendly sourcing. Encourage innovation opportunities with marketing agencies and suppliers. Promote continuous improvement, efficiency, and digital transformation in sourcing models. Champion Sobeys Strategic Sourcing Suite and approved AI technologies to improve efficiency and support datadriven decisionmaking.
