Job Description

The Director of Business Development will lead and manage the growth and successful launch of the SteriMax portfolio through strategic licensing and co-development deals, targeted onboarding of new partners, and competitive intelligence gathering. Furthermore, this individual will oversee the growth of SteriMaxs International business, ex-North America. Job Responsibilities: Manage the Business Development team through the establishment of a departmental vision, mandate, objectives, priorities, and personnel management (e.g. hiring, assignment of staff) activities. Provide direct reports and/or cross-functional team members with leadership, direction, and coaching to achieve work objectives and improve performance and skills. Responsible for managing SteriMaxs portfolio expansion through targeted selection of high value products, including but not limited to small molecules, complex products, biosimilars, ready to use formulations, etc. Accountable for: ongoing quarterly maintenance of an injectable target list the collection and dissemination of international and domestic competitive intelligence to drive domestic sales strategies the identification, development and maintenance of partner relations Will be required to oversee and perform: Product launch analysis for new deals Contractual negotiations with external partners Drafting of optimal contract terms Liaising with SteriMax legal dept. to ensure contract compliance Accountable for ensuring that SteriMaxs international division achieves annual goals related to budget and strategic initiatives Accountable for managing new product lifecycle from partner outreach to project kickoff/handoff to Operations/Regulatory Responsible for ensuring BD supports Operations and Regulatory during pre-approval process by acting as intermediary to troubleshoot outstanding issues with partners Responsible for the renegotiation of pricing terms with partners prior to tender cycle (and ad-hoc as required) Responsible for informing the Senior Leadership with monthly updates concerning portfolio activities and ongoing export sales Accountable for deploying SteriMaxs annual conference attendance strategy Job Requirements: Bachelors Degree MBA preferred Minimum of 5 - 10 years of related experience preferably in the Pharmaceutical industry. Working with API, CRO, CMO and/or CDMO organizations will be considered an asset Detailed knowledge of the generic pharmaceutical space in Canada; specifically hospital injectables Strong written and oral communication skills. Fluency in Mandarin is considered an asset. Ability to work with all levels within the organization Strong computer skills and knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing and project management software Diplomatic but assertive with people and captures their commitment to achieve superior results.
