Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Warehouse Manager to lead the setup and daily operations of a chemical storage and distribution facility. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of warehouse management, safety compliance, and chemical handling standards in Canada. Key Responsibilities Lead the setup and layout design of a new warehouse (~20,000 sq ft) for chemical storage Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for warehouse operations Ensure full compliance with Canadian safety regulations, including WHMIS, TDG, and local fire codes Manage inventory control systems, including receiving, storage, and dispatch of chemical products Oversee proper storage of liquid chemicals (IBC totes, drums, etc.), including spill containment systems Coordinate transportation and logistics, ensuring safe and compliant handling of goods Train and supervise warehouse staff on safety procedures and operational efficiency Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits Work closely with clients and regulatory bodies to ensure operational compliance Qualifications Minimum 35 years of experience in warehouse management, preferably in chemical, oil & gas, or industrial sectors Strong knowledge of hazardous materials handling, WHMIS, and TDG regulations Experience setting up or optimizing a warehouse from scratch is a strong asset Familiarity with spill containment systems, IBC storage, and chemical segregation Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory tracking Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities Certifications (Preferred) WHMIS Certification TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods) Certification Forklift Operator Certification Occupational Health & Safety training Key Competencies Safety-first mindset Attention to detail Strong communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment Additional Requirements Must be legally eligible to work in Canada Experience with UN1993 or similar chemical storage is considered a strong asset Ability to handle physical tasks and work in a warehouse environment when needed #J-18808-Ljbffr
