Position Summary Position Summary... The Senior Manager, Finance (Food SBU) leads end-to-end financial planning, analysis, and decision support for the Food Strategic Business Unit. This role is accountable for driving profitable growth and financial efficiency through rigorous P&L management, budgeting and forecasting, performance management, and investment governance. The Senior Manager partners closely with Food business leaders and crossfunctional teams (e.g., Merchandising, Replenishment, Central Operations, eCommerce, Controllership, Supply Chain, Real Estate) to translate strategy into financial plans, identify risks and opportunities, and ensure disciplined execution. Scope & Impact Owns and influences financial outcomes for Food portfolio. Leads the cadence of weekly/monthly performance reviews, forecast updates, and executiveready narratives. Drives standardization and continuous improvement across FP&A processes, tools, and reporting. Develops and leads a highperforming finance team; provides coaching and capability building across the broader finance community. Key Responsibilities Financial planning, budgeting & target setting Leads in the annual budget process for the Food SBU by partnering with business leaders to set targets and align divisional goals to market dynamics, historical performance, and planned investments. Translates strategic priorities into financial plans, including sales, margin, operating expense, and working capital assumptions. Ensures alignment between management reporting (e.g., MFP) and financial reporting definitions in partnership with Controllership and Central Operations. Forecasting, performance management & business reviews Leads in the monthly forecast cycle, coordinating inputs from business leads and crossfunctional partners; update outlooks to reflect changing business conditions. Manages P&L results through structured business reviews, proactively analyzing trends, identifying risks/opportunities, and recommending corrective actions to achieve targets. Ensures timely and accurate reporting of sales, gross profit, and key drivers as part of monthend close and forecasting activities. Drafts clear, executiveready variance narratives and KPI commentary; communicates insights and actions with clarity and influence. Longrange planning & strategic decision support Leads in the longrange planning (LRP) process by developing operational and financial strategies based on trends, planned changes, and scenario analysis. Partners with business leaders to identify enablers for goal achievement and develop alternatives to address gaps (e.g., pricing, mix, promo, supply chain levers, cost actions). Provides financial leadership on strategic initiatives, including sizing opportunities, evaluating tradeoffs, and supporting prioritization. Investment governance, ROI & business cases Supports strategic projects by providing ROI analysis, financial modelling, and investment prioritization based on strategic importance and return. Provides governance for capital/project spend, ensuring disciplined tracking, benefits realization, and adherence to methodology (aligned with Investment Finance standards where applicable). Crossfunctional partnership & financial alignment Serves as a key interface with broader Merch Finance and enterprise finance partners to ensure reporting and analytic requirements are understood and delivered to standard. Partners with Controllership to ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of financial data and reporting. Process improvement, systems & standardization Identifies and implements enhancements across financial systems, reporting, and planning processes to improve speed, accuracy, and useful decisions. Drives standardization and simplification across FP&A ways of working; support multibusiness unit initiatives to improve efficiency. Leverages digital tools, AI and automation opportunities to modernise reporting and insights. People leadership & talent development Recruits, onboard, train, and mentor a team of finance professionals; set clear expectations and build strong engagement. Provides guidance, coaching and development opportunities; recognises accomplishments and addresses concerns.
