Employment Status: Casual Term 4 months Location: Edmonton, ERDP | Work Model: On-site The Opportunity The IT Business Analyst Summer Student is responsible for supporting analysis, requirements documentation, and various technology initiatives. The role collaborates with business users, project managers, and IT teams to document processes, support testing, coordinate project activities, and maintain effective communication across all stakeholders. Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for duties that will include: Core Outcomes Clear and accurate business requirements are documented. Collaboration with process owners to document the current and futurestate processes, with formal signoff obtained from stakeholders. Engagement with the project team to ensure effective stakeholder communication and project maintenance of project documentation. Business process analysis is conducted to identify and support improvement opportunities. Support in testing activities to ensure successful delivery of the solutions. Administrative and coordination support contribute to the steady progress of IT projects. Key Activities Assist in gathering and documenting business and system requirements during requirement gathering phase. Support the development of process maps, workflows, and supporting documentation throughout the requirement and implementation phases. Actively participate in meetings with business and IT stakeholders to monitor requirement deliverables and action items on a weekly basis. Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for improvement. Assist with testing activities including the preparation of test case documentation and support for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) in the implementation phase. Prepare reports, presentations, and project documentation on a weekly basis or as required. Support in creating and managing documentation such as Standard Operating Procedures and user guides during the implementation phase. Required Qualifications and Skills Bachelors degree in progress in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field. Approximately 6 months of experience through academic, project, internship, or personal work in requirement management, or Project Management. Skills And Abilities Strong analytical thinking and problemsolving. Attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and within a team. Clear written and verbal communication. Adaptability and willingness to learn new tools and methods.
