Aecon Nuclear provides a full spectrum of Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) services, in addition to maintenance and manufacturing tailored to the nuclear power industry. Our portfolio spans building, refurbishing, maintaining, and decommissioning nuclear power facilities, ranging from essential maintenance contracts to major construction projects. We are partnering with Atkins Realis on the Pickering Retailing, Feeder and Boiler Replacement (RFBR) project, involving the refurbishment of four reactors and replacement of fortyeight steam generators at the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station. The Procurement Lead reports directly to the Aecon Nuclear Procurement Director and will implement procurement policies, establish strategy, and ensure full procurement support throughout the integrated, efficient, and costeffective project lifecycle. What Youll Do Here The role involves early engagement and demand planning, developing procurement plans for the full project lifecycle, and managing tendering, market solicitation, and negotiation of equipment, materials, and safetyrelated components. Lead and manage a team to support the full procurement lifecycle and overall success of procurement activities for the Pickering RFBR project. Review purchase requisitions and related documentation for clarity, completeness, and compliance with quality assurance, funding authorization, delivery requirements, and transportation mode. Provide technical expertise for issuing standard and qualityrelated Request for Quotations (RFQs) to qualified vendors on Aecons Approved Suppliers List. Assist the Procurement Director in developing projectspecific procurement plans or lead the development of such plans. Negotiate major contracts for best price, delivery, payment terms, purchase conditions, tax exemptions, price escalation, and other factors impacting supply. Implement detailed costreduction strategies to meet organizational goals. Establish and enforce standards and expectations for procurement across the project. Achieve productivity and performance goals for the team and all projects. Ensure quality, reliability, and responsiveness to operational needs that meet or exceed expectations. Manage logistics, including expediting critical site deliveries. Maintain accountability to internal clients beyond normal business hours. Provide uptodate training on the Aecon Quality Assurance Manual. Provide standardized reporting for the Procurement functional area. Oversee procurement process implementation, ensuring adherence to applicable law, ethical practice, and company policies. What You Bring To The Team Minimum 7 years experience in Procurement, with a minimum of 5 within a construction environment. Minimum 2 years experience in a leadership/management role. Extensive familiarity with Procurement/Materials Programs and processes. Experience with EPC project lifecycle and specialized equipment manufacturing. Experience handling large and complex purchases and negotiations. Demonstrated leadership abilities with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Experience in the Nuclear Industry is an asset.
