Job Description What is the opportunity? This role is critical for ensuring the integrity and compliance of RBCs Capital Markets Lending Loan Book. As a Documentation and Securities Officer (DSO), youll manage end-to-end collateral verification, monitoring, and safekeeping, collaborating across teams to validate documentation and mitigate risks. Your expertise will directly safeguard the Banks reputation and financial interests, as errors could lead to material losses. Success requires a keen understanding of legal, administrative, and policy frameworks to resolve daily complexities. This position is ideal for detailoriented professionals passionate about risk management and operational excellence in a highstakes financial environment. What will you do? Collateral Management: Endtoend verification, monitoring, and safekeeping of collateral for Capital Markets Lending loans. Documentation Oversight: Ensure receipt and validity of credit documentation/security for transactions. Security Registration: Manage proper registration, renewal, or discharge of collateral under PPSA, Quebec Civil Code, UCC, or Land Titles. OutofOrder Resolution: Report and resolve missing documentation with internal teams, agent banks, and law firms. Negotiable Securities Handling: Oversee lodging/release of securities for agented and bilateral facilities. Regulatory Compliance: Maintain FRBNY pledge records and ensure adherence to the Flood Disaster Protection Act (FDPA). System Integrity: Align CCMS/DMS/BCRMS data, review exception reports, and create SRF placeholders. Financial Monitoring: Track receipt of financial reports and compliance certificates. Expert Advisory Role: Act as a referral point for documentation enforceability across Capital Markets. Process Optimization: Identify inefficiencies, update operational guides, and lead projects to streamline workflows. What do you need to succeed? Must haves Undergraduate Degree and 12 years of experience Strong knowledge of credit and legal documentation (e.g., Loan Agreements, security documents) Proficiency in Excel, Word and ACBS Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment Ability to prioritize, work under pressure and meet timesensitive deadlines Strong time management and organizational skills Excellent attention to detail, judgment, flexibility and dependability Ability to respond effectively to requests from participants, especially for accommodations which fall outside the parameters of the Credit Agreement Excellent written and oral communication skills Nicetohaves Understanding of Business Law and North American nonnegotiable security registration requirements (including PPSA, Bank Act, Quebec Civil Code & UCC) and North American loan documentation and security Fluency in French (spoken and written) Whats in it for you?
