Director, Product & Innovation Building the future of racket sports at Pro-Spin Sports Toronto, ON (Hybrid, 3 days in office) Full-Time Reports to Founder & CEO About Pro-Spin Sports Pro-Spin is a founder-led, high-growth, global racket sport brand that designs and sells performance-first table tennis and pickleball gear. Built on the promise of Performance for Everyday, the brand has earned the trust of hundreds of thousands of customers through exceptional product quality, standout packaging, and a relentless focus on the customer experience. Pro-Spin currently generates approximately $20 million CAD in annual revenue across North America and Europe, online via Amazon, Walmart, and Shopify. We are in high growth mode, actively expanding into new product categories and geographic markets. Our ambition goes well beyond where we are today. We are building a multi-racket sport brand with a presence across table tennis, pickleball, padel, and beyond with a product line that will expand into accessories, bags, cases, and other soft goods. There is no bureaucracy, no approval chains, and no politics. You will work directly with the founder, have a voice in the direction of the business, and see the impact of your decisions quickly. That also means we expect a lot. We do not manage people closely we hire people who do not need to be managed. The Opportunity This is a career-defining opportunity to shape what a high-growth racket sports brand becomes. You will own the full product lifecycle from concept and consumer insight through supplier development, prototyping, testing, and launch working directly with the founder and a talented senior art director to bring products to market that people love. You will be in the room touching prototypes, evaluating materials, iterating with suppliers, and making decisions that shape what goes on shelf. As the business grows, you will build and lead a team to expand our innovation output into new categories including accessories, bags, cases, and other soft goods. What Youll Own Product Development & Innovation Lead end-to-end product development across all sports from concept generation through final production approval Own the innovation pipeline and roadmap, ensuring launches are on time, on spec, and on budget Work directly with our overseas suppliers to develop, refine, and finalize prototypes Build and manage a structured testing and feedback process using coaches, athletes, and category experts including on-court testing alongside the founder Identify white space opportunities across racket sports, accessories, bags, cases, and other soft goods to fuel the next phase of category expansion Conduct consumer research and competitive analysis to inform product strategy and positioning Build and lead a product team over time to scale innovation output as the business grows Product Marketing & Positioning Develop clear, consumer-first positioning for every product who its for, what makes it different, and why it wins Lead product naming with strong creative sensibility finding names that resonate with players and stand out in category Own packaging strategy and briefing, working closely with our Senior Art Director to develop packaging that performs online and at retail Partner with the eCommerce and marketing teams to ensure product storytelling is sharp across all channels Amazon listings, DTC, and social Develop pricing strategies informed by category dynamics, cost structure, and consumer value perception Launch Execution Own the product launch framework coordinating across supply chain, creative, and commercial to ensure flawless execution Drive 100% on-time launch readiness across a multi-product pipeline Manage product lifecycle decisions from introduction through discontinuation Year One Priorities You will have immediate impact. Here is what the first year looks like: Taking ownership of new table tennis, pickleball and padel products targeting summer launch Managing ongoing product improvement projects Building a structured innovation and launch framework that scales as we grow Growing a robust athlete and coach testing panel to support ongoing product testing Who You Are You are a seasoned CPG product marketer who is equally comfortable in a strategy session and hands-on with a prototype. You do not need to be managed you figure out what needs to happen and you make it happen. You are energized by building, not maintaining. 8+ years of experience in CPG product development and product marketing, ideally in lifestyle, sports, outdoor, or adjacent categories Proven track record of taking products from concept through commercialization you have done this before and you have the launch scars to prove it Strong consumer-first instincts you know how to translate insight into products and positioning that actually resonate Creative sensibility for naming, packaging, and design direction you know what good looks like and you can brief and push creative partners to get there Experience managing supplier relationships and iterating through prototype development you are comfortable in that back-and-forth Sharp on pricing strategy and commercial fundamentals you think about margin, not just product Self-directed and autonomous you thrive with ownership and do not need someone tracking your progress daily Comfortable in a fast-moving, lean environment where you wear multiple hats and figure things out Plays at least one racket sport table tennis, pickleball, padel, tennis, squash, or badminton and is willing to play with coaches and the founder as part of the product testing process. This is a real part of the job.
