Key Responsibilities Technical Strength Possess a clear understanding of the OCTG industry and use that understanding to solve problems and challenges of customers. Understand the technical function and limits of OCTG products in the construction and completion of oil, gas and geothermal wells. Possess an understanding of the features, functions, applicability and limits of GBCs and its competitors products, and use this mastery to solve customers problems and distinguish GBCs value proposition. Learn new product technology of both GBC and its competitors and determine how to position GBC in a favorable light versus the competition with this knowledge. Be able to understand customers problems and challenges and be able to develop solutions for them using GBCs portfolio of products. Collaborate with GBCs engineering team to address customers needs in a thorough and efficient manner. Position Specifications Educational/Professional Credentials Bachelors degree preferred in business or science. Membership in industry professional organizations (SPE, API, AADE, etc.) preferred. Technical Credentials/Experience Working knowledge of materials science, especially of steels and alloys used in OCTG products. Strong knowledge of OCTG connections and related products, especially as relating to the construction and completion of wells. Understanding of the general oilfield industry, especially drilling and completions operations, including the design of casing and tubing strings. Knowledge of API specifications relevant to the position (Specifications 5CT, 5B, 5B1, 5A5, RP 5C1, 5L and TR5C3). Functional knowledge of QA/QC systems and methods. Strong skills with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, etc.) Demonstrated strength in the use of CRM software to maximize efficiency and focus. 10+ years of oil and gas industry technical sales experience, practicing prospect generation, lead development and scoring, direct technical sales, pricing negotiation and sales follow up. Some on-site field experience with drilling and rig operations is preferred . General Work Demands Position location of report will be GB Connections Houston office. Significant travel, both domestic and abroad, will be required. Some field engagement may be required from time to time, which will require use of appropriate PPE (hard hat, safety toe shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, flame retardant outerwear, etc.). Attendance and participation in late evening and weekend events are common requirements.
