Cloverdale Paint has an opening for a full-time Design & Specifications Representative in the Greater Toronto Area, ON . The Design & Specifications Representative plays a key role in promoting and selling coating / colour systems and establishing strong relationships with architects, designers, engineers and other specifiers. They will provide expert guidance on our coating solutions, ensuring that clients select the right products and colours for their projects. The Design & Specifications Representative will create and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers to facilitate Trade sales growth and profitability for Cloverdale Paint. This role requires a valid drivers license and the ability to travel the Greater Toronto Area regularly. Salary is negotiable based on previous experience and qualifications. WHAT WE OFFER Company paid benefits Medical, Dental and Vision Annual cost of living salary increases Profit-sharing Program Vehicle Allowance Family Assistance Program Staff Discounts A supportive and growth-oriented management team A great work environment with collaborative and caring colleagues RESPONSIBILITIES Build and maintain strong partnerships with architects, design and specification professionals to increase product awareness and preference Actively identify, pursue, and convert specification opportunities into realized Trade Sales revenue by supporting sales initiatives and closing opportunities within targeted trade segments Support achievement of defined Trade Sales targets through specification conversion and relationship development Write product specifications and acquire approvals for use of Cloverdale Paint products related to trade segments: property management, builder and new construction development Provide expert knowledge on product features, sustainability green build rating standards and applications to support informed decision-making Articulate customer requirements, processes, and activities to internal Cloverdale departments Assist clients in the specification process to ensure coatings are correctly integrated into plans and meet project requirements Coordination and delivery of Continuing Education Units to professionals collecting credits Work with local Interior Design Schools and Design firms to identify and present Cloverdale Paint products, colours and systems Develop and implement strategies to secure product / colour specifications and drive market share growth with municipality and government opportunities promoting Buy Canadian Stay updated on trends, project pipelines, and competitive products to position our products effectively Showcase Cloverdale Paint product capabilities and brand presence at trade shows, industry events and presentations Identify, register and participate with associations related to target markets specifiers, designers, architects, engineers Track client interactions and project statuses using Sales Force CRM software, providing regular progress update reports, market conditions, and project forecasts Maintain professional in person communication, as well as via phone and email Host regular lunch / learn type presentations with target markets Promote and foster a safe and positive work environment Provide necessary SDS and TDS for customers Adhere to and uphold the policies and procedures outlined in the Cloverdale Paint Health and Safety Manual Other duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS Business, Marketing, design and or a related education is an asset Architectural technology, or a related discipline, including completion of a professional practice leading to recognized designations (e.g., CSC, CDT Construction Documents Technologist), or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience Minimum of 3 years architectural coatings experience. Paint and or Design sales and or related. Strong understanding of Construction Specifications Canada (CSC), including its standards, processes, and role within the construction and design industry Demonstrated experience and working knowledge across multiple sectors, including multi-family residential, government, healthcare, interior fit-outs, and commercial projects Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate, present and demonstrate products and solutions in a clear concise manner Ability to demonstrate troubleshooting capabilities and a problemsolving mindset Ability to interpret products, systems and specification needs to include providing all recommendations Familiar with MS Office, and working experience with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook Proficiency in a CRM type software and reporting Knowledge of Master Painters Institute (MPI) standards and systems Successful candidate must reside in the GTA areas Available for regular travel local in GTA area and occasional overnight travel Valid drivers license Our employees enjoy excellent work environments, respectful workplaces with credible leadership and receive fair remuneration and annual profit sharing.
