The Associate Category Manager and Category Advisor for Walmart will identify opportunities to deliver category and customer growth through fact-based recommendation. The Associate Category Manager/Category Advisor will assess trends, analyze PL data, shopper data and syndicated/point of sale data to identify key customer opportunities for growth. This role demands high energy and agility, assertive management skills, an aptitude to resolve complex problems, understanding of market dynamics and employment of good decision making skills. This is a hybrid position and will work from the Toronto office 4x week. Responsibilities Serve as category advisor to Walmart, completing Walmart weekly reports, projects and ad-hoc requests as required by the Walmart buyer. Complete modular review process leveraging category analysis, shopper insights and available analytic tools As category expert, deliver best in class presentations that highlight category growth opportunities, risks and potential challenges Develop compelling customer presentations for new innovation, key business issues, planogram and shelf recommendations Build and maintain strong, multi-level relationships internally and externally based on mutual trust and integrity Align & synchronize Colgate brand strategies/priorities with customer strategies to create win-win outcomes. Execute new product initiatives in line with joint business plans Support category management growth through shelf management technologies, POS and Nielsen applications, with emphasis on fact based selling Demonstrate expertise in category management and efficient assortment decisions while influencing to help drive category growth Use shelf management software and category expertise to recommend optimal shelf placement for new and existing products, with the objective of expanding and securing distribution/placement Evaluate share of shelf and uncover opportunities to drive planogram recommendations internally/externally Evaluate effectiveness of Colgate and competitive promotions through post promo-analysis. Make clear recommendations internally & externally Be proficient in interpreting shopper and consumer research to drive category solutions development with customers (i.e. Numerator) Use an entrepreneurial insight led approach to proactively identify business issues, dig into data to uncover drivers of change, connect multiple data sources into a simple persuasive story Actively participate in team building and best practice sharing to increase overall team effectiveness Work with all functional areas of the customer development team to develop and execute the business Monitor and scorecard execution of 7P activities against established objectives and guidelines Reqired qualifications 5+ years experience in consumer packaged goods or other relevant sales/data/marketing experience 2+ years of Category Management experience, using syndicated service (Nielsen, IRI, Retail Link, Scintilla, Numerator, promo Intel, etc.) Proficient in JDA Space Planning/Blue Yonder and planogram development Proficient with Google Suite Preferred qualifications Category advisorship experience Compensation Salary Range $105,300.00 - $122,850.00 CAD per year Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to experience, education, skills and work or office location.
