Supply Chain Manager Groundswell Food Group (DBA Mitsoh) Location: Edmonton, Alberta (Remote Possible) Reports to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) About Mitsoh Mitsoh is building clean-protein meat snacks rooted in tradition, ancestral wisdom, and made for modern snacking. As a rapidly growing CPG food company, we operate with world-class manufacturing and food safety standards aligned with GFSI-recognized programs. We are seeking a Supply Chain Manager to oversee the end-to-end flow of product from suppliers to production, through distribution, and ultimately to customers. This role plays a critical part in ensuring operational efficiency, inventory accuracy, food safety compliance, and scalable infrastructure to support company growth. Position Overview The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for managing Mitsohs integrated supply chain across procurement, production planning, inventory management, logistics, third-party warehousing, and customer order fulfillment. The role works closely with operations, quality assurance, finance, and sales to ensure product availability, cost efficiency, regulatory compliance, and excellent customer service. Key ResponsibilitiesSupply Chain Planning & Forecasting Lead demand planning and forecasting based on sales projections, promotions, and growth plans Coordinate Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes with sales, operations, and finance teams Establish appropriate safety stock levels and service targets to maintain product availability Procurement & Vendor Management Manage sourcing and purchasing of raw materials, packaging materials, and indirect supplies Lead supplier selection processes including RFPs, negotiations, and contract management Maintain supplier relationships and performance tracking for quality, reliability, and cost efficiency Cost Management & Supply Chain Economics Monitor and manage cost of goods (COGS) across raw materials, packaging, freight, and logistics Identify cost optimization opportunities through supplier negotiations and process improvements Support finance and leadership with supply chain cost analysis and margin improvement initiatives Production Planning & Inventory Management Collaborate with production teams to align purchasing and inventory with production schedules Maintain accurate item master data and SKU management within ERP systems Oversee inventory control, adjustments, shelf-life monitoring, and stock rotation Logistics, Freight & Distribution Manage inbound and outbound freight operations and transportation partners Optimize shipping strategies to balance service levels and transportation costs Ensure reliable delivery performance across all customer channels 3PL Warehouse Management Manage relationships and performance of third-party logistics (3PL) providers Monitor warehouse KPIs including inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, and storage practices Coordinate inventory transfers, audits, and warehouse process improvements Customer Order Fulfillment & Service Oversee the order management process from order entry through shipment and delivery Coordinate with sales and customer service teams to ensure timely and accurate order processing Manage service metrics such as order accuracy, fill rate, and on-time delivery Compliance, Traceability & Food Safety Ensure supply chain activities align with GFSI-recognized standards such as BRCGS, SQF, or equivalent Maintain traceability systems for raw materials, packaging, and finished goods Support quality teams in supplier compliance, documentation, and recall readiness Systems & Continuous Improvement Manage supply chain workflows within ERP and inventory management systems Ensure accurate data governance including item masters and inventory reporting Lead process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and supply chain visibility Risk Management & Supply Continuity Develop contingency plans and secondary suppliers for key ingredients and packaging Monitor potential supply chain disruptions and proactively mitigate risks Maintain continuity planning for critical supply inputs Qualifications Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, or a related field 58+ years of experience in supply chain management within a CPG food or beverage company Experience operating within GFSI-certified environments (BRCGS, SQF, FSSC 22000, or equivalent) Experience managing procurement, planning, inventory, and logistics functions Experience working with third-party logistics (3PL) warehouses and transportation partners Familiarity with ERP systems and inventory management software Professional certifications such as APICS (CPIM/CSCP) or SCMP are considered an asset Core Competencies Strategic supply chain planning and forecasting Vendor negotiation and supplier management Inventory optimization and demand planning Logistics and transportation coordination Cross-functional collaboration Analytical and financial acumen Process improvement and operational scaling Additional Information This role may require occasional travel to suppliers, manufacturing partners, or warehouse facilities.
