Position Description The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving new business growth by identifying opportunities, building strong client relationships, and delivering tailored fleet solutions. This role focuses on consultative selling, leveraging our extensive service portfolio to help clients achieve operational efficiency and cost savings. The ideal candidate is a strategic, results-driven professional with deep industry knowledge and a proven ability to close complex deals. Your ability to under promise and over deliver will help ensure perpetual retention of Summit Fleet's clientele. Key Responsibilities Identify and pursue new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, networking, and lead generation. Build and manage a pipeline of potential clients using CRM tools, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting. Consultative Solutions Engage with prospective clients to understand fleet requirements and operational challenges. Design and present tailored solutions, including vehicles, telematics, maintenance programs, fuel cards, and compliance services. Work closely with internal teams (Operations, Marketing, Finance) to develop proposals and uncover warm leads. Attend tradeshows, industry events, and networking opportunities to promote our full-service offerings. Sales Process Management Prepare professional proposals, pricing models, and deliver compelling presentations to decision-makers. Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to contract negotiation and closing. Act as a subject matter expert on fleet management solutions, positioning the company as a trusted advisor. Reporting Provide regular updates on sales activity, pipeline progress, and performance metrics. Safety & Compliance Follow all company health, safety, and OHS policies to maintain a safe workplace. All other duties as assigned by Summit Fleet leadership. Qualifications We need the right personality for the job, someone who can work with a team and pivot quickly in a fast-paced environment. Valid Drivers License and an acceptable Drivers Abstract, required. Bachelors degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years of B2B sales experience, preferably in fleet management, automotive leasing, or transportation services. Strong consultative selling skills and ability to develop customized solutions. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities. Proficiency in CRM tools (Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to travel within Canada, primarily Alberta, as required.
