Reporting to the Assistant Controller and working closely with the CFO, you will gain strong visibility, meaningful ownership, and handson exposure to recurring revenue accounting, financial reporting, and process improvement initiatives.Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Financial Accountant will play a key role within the finance team, supporting monthend close, financial reporting, and core accounting operations, with a strong emphasis on revenue recognition and deferred revenue accounting in a recurring revenue environment. You will work closely with the Assistant Controller, CFO, and crossfunctional teams including billing and operations.Key responsibilities include:Preparing and posting journal entries, accruals, and performing detailed account reconciliationsAssisting with monthly, quarterly, and yearend close processesMaintaining general ledger accuracy and supporting internal financial reportingMaintaining and reconciling deferred revenue schedules in accordance with IFRSReviewing customer contracts and billing schedules to ensure proper revenue recognition and deferral treatmentReconciling the accounts receivable subledger to the general ledger on a monthly basisPartnering with billing and collections to ensure accurate invoicing and application of paymentsSupporting analysis of recurring revenue streams and contract modificationsMaintaining the fixed asset register, including rightofuse assets, depreciation, and disposalsEvaluating and accounting for leases under IFRS 16 and maintaining lease schedulesPerforming monthly bank and corporate credit card reconciliationsAssisting with cash forecasting and reporting on liquiditySupporting external audit requests and preparing working papersAssisting with indirect tax filings (GST/HST/PST) and corporate tax supportParticipating in system enhancements, automation, and process improvement initiativesQualifications:Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration45+ years of progressive accounting experienceWorking toward CPA designation is an assetTechnical Skills:Experience in a recurring revenue, subscription, or contract-based environment strongly preferredHandson experience with revenue recognition, deferred revenue accounting and AR reconciliationsStrong Excel and accounting systems proficiencySolid understanding of IFRS (including IFRS 15 and IFRS 16 preferred)Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fastpaced, evolving environmentAdditional InformationThe Mason Group is committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and accessible recruitment process.
