WHAT WE DO: We focus on providing delivery, staffing, and supported services such as enterprise integration/implementations including, but not limited to, CRM, EAM, ERP, PMO, and QA. We service clients in SLED (state/local govt & education), financial services, fortune, public utility, as well as regularly partnering with Big 4 SI partners. DTI is supporting a large-scale SAP IS-U transformation for a regulated public utility in Columbus, Ohio. We are seeking a Senior SAP IS-U Billing Consultant to join a long-term program from early design through implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing regulatory support. Consultant should be prepared to travel 2 Weeks per month ( Tue-Thursday ) for the first 8 months ( Feb-Sep), and then it would be mostly once a month until April 2027. You will be reimbursed for travel This role is ideal for a hands-on IS-U Billing expert who has led billing design from project inception and is comfortable owning complex rate architecture, schema configuration, and real-world operational scenarios in a utility environment. You will play a key role in shaping billing strategy, translating tariffs into SAP, advising business stakeholders, and supporting end-to-end billing processes across electric and gas. Key Technical Skills & Configuration Experience The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience with: Rate categories & rate types Operand design Rate step configuration Variant programs Billing schema architecture Price key configuration Register relationships Multi-register TOU billing Demand billing logic Proration across rate change Custom enhancements (BAdIs) Integration with FI-CA (does not need to be an FI-CA expert) Required IS-U Billing Scenarios (Must Be Able to Explain from Configuration + Operations) Candidates should be comfortable walking through configuration and operational handling of: Meter exchange mid-cycle TOU register missing interval data Demand reset logic Net generation credit rollover Cancel / Re-bill Rate refunds Billing reversal & rebill Budget billing annual true-up Project Lifecycle Responsibilities We are specifically looking for someone who has been involved from the start of IS-U projects , including: Designing rate architecture Mapping tariff sheets to billing schemas Handling regulatory changes Advising business stakeholders on rate modeling Running workshops with business and regulatory teams Performing Fit/Gap analysis Writing Functional Design Documents This is not a support-only role the consultant must be comfortable driving design decisions and partnering directly with utility business users. Responsibilities Lead SAP IS-U Billing design and configuration across complex utility rate structures Translate regulatory tariffs into SAP billing schemas, operands, and rate steps Support TOU, demand, and multi-register billing scenarios Partner with business teams on rate modeling and billing impacts Facilitate design workshops and Fit/Gap sessions Produce high-quality functional design documentation Support integration with FI-CA and downstream systems Assist with testing (SIT/UAT), defect resolution, and billing validation Provide guidance during deployment and post-go-live stabilization Support ongoing regulatory updates and enhancements Qualifications 6+ years of SAP IS-U Billing (BI) experience in regulated utility environments Strong hands-on configuration background (not advisory only) Experience supporting projects from blueprint through go-live Deep understanding of utility billing processes and rate design Proven ability to work directly with business and regulatory stakeholders Strong documentation and workshop facilitation skills Experience with electric and/or gas utilities strongly preferred Why This Role Multi-year engagement with a major public utility Opportunity to influence billing architecture from the ground up Stable, long-term program with regulatory complexity Work alongside senior utility and SAP leaders on a flagship transformation Pay rate: Please click on the link below for our company benefits DTI is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
