We are committed to creating positive outcomes for our people, communities, and the planet.Join us and be part of a team that truly makes a difference.Position Overview:Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for procurement activities, including comanufactured products, raw materials, and packaging materials, as well as monthly forecasting to suppliers.The Supply Chain Specialist is an active member of the team and supports the achievement of overall Supply Chain objectives.This position is based out of our Dartmouth, Nova Scotia head office.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Demand Planning & ProcurementUtilize SAP to forecast demand for all comanufactured products, raw materials, and packaging components, and provide a 12month rolling forecast to suppliersCreate and manage all purchase orders (POs) in SAP and communicate PO placement to external suppliersEnsure purchase orders accurately reflect tiered pricing structuresMonitor open purchase orders and review supplier openorder reports; initiate appropriate followup to ensure timely deliverySource and evaluate alternate suppliers as requiredMonitor and adjust MRP data to support effective demand planningCrossFunctional & Project SupportAct as the Supply Chain point of contact for bill of material (BOM) changes, communicating status updates to crossfunctional stakeholdersServe as the Supply Chain contact for new or revised packaging designsSupport Innovation and Project teams with procurementrelated activitiesEffectively identify and resolve issues to prevent stockoutsSystems, Documentation & ComplianceMaintain and update purchasing information records in SAP to ensure vendor and material accuracyCreate, revise, and maintain SOPs and Work InstructionsDocument deviations and contribute to Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs)Operational Support & Continuous ImprovementAssist with the execution of Operations continuous improvement initiativesProvide support for production planning and traceability during PTO coverageGeneralPerform other duties as assigned from time to timeRequired Qualifications:Strong team player with excellent problemsolving skills and a positive, proactive attitudeAbility to work independently and apply critical thinking when resolving supply chain issuesExperience in purchasing, inventory control, and demand planning within a GMP or controlled environmentStrong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and ERP systems SAP and demand planning experience preferred5+ years of experience in a supply chain or manufacturing environment preferredLanguage SkillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to read and interpret work instructions, SOPs, and other technical documentationAbility to prepare routine reports and present data analysis clearly and conciselyAbility to respond effectively to internal and external inquiriesCertificates, Licenses, and RegistrationsRelevant certifications or credentials in supply chain management or a related field are considered an assetWork EnvironmentThe work environment characteristics described herein are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this role.
