As a CAD Designer, Cable Containment, Rail and Transit, you will join a collaborative, highperforming Rail & Transit team delivering complex, nationshaping transportation projects across Canada. Your work will help design the next generation of safe, reliable, and modern transit infrastructureimproving mobility for millions. Youll contribute to detailed 2D/3D design, cable containment modeling, and systems coordination across major rail programs, partnering with engineers and specialists who are leaders in their fields. Your Impact - Design and model 2D and 3D guideway infrastructure and cable containment systems in accordance with Metrolinx, CN, CP, AREMA and project standards - Produce accurate 3D models supporting systems such as CCTV, intrusion detection, access control, SCADA, lighting, wayside signals, switch heaters, duct banks, axle counters, and other assets. - Prepare coordinated drawing packages for client submissions, ensuring quality, clarity, and alignment with engineering direction. - Support multidisciplinary teams through all phases of design, construction, and commissioning. - Review site conditions, specifications, design inputs, and external documentation to ensure integration and accuracy. - Conduct selfreviews and perform quality checks on designs and deliverables with meticulous attention to standards. - Document and manage design changes, participating in alternatives analysis and value engineering activities. - Present design concepts during meetings, workshops, and coordination sessions with clients and partner consultants. The Skills That Set You Apart Postsecondary engineering technology diploma or degree with minimum 2 years of experience in a relevant design role. Proven experience (2+ years) as a CAD/CADD Designer on rail or transit infrastructure projects. Proficiency using AutoCAD Civil 3D for both 2D and 3D design workflows. Familiarity with railway communications technologies, railway standards, and infrastructure interfaces. Strong design discipline with exceptional attention to detail, version control, drafting standard, and submission accuracy. Adaptability within complex, deadlinedriven project environments and ability to manage shifting priorities. Enthusiasm for problemsolving in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
