An Undergraduate Nursing Employee (UNE) position provides an opportunity for a UNE to develop further competency in the range and complexity of Registered Nurse (RN). Description The Undergraduate Nursing Employee (UNE) is an unregulated member of the nursing team, who functions within the broader interdisciplinary health care team to provide patient centered care under the consultation, guidance and supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN) or other regulated healthcare designate. The UNE is accountable for providing safe nursing care to assigned patients in accordance with their formal nursing education preparation and competency and articulating relevant information related to the clients health status, selfcare abilities and limitations to the RN or other regulated healthcare designate. This includes conducting holistic nursing assessments to collect comprehensive information on client health status, contributing to the development and modification of the individualized care plans, implementing therapeutic nursing interventions and evaluating the plan of care to achieve desired outcomes. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the UNA Collective Agreement. Resume must include details of clinical hours completed and/or expected to be completed by the start date, as well as the current year and term of study. Documentation of current and ongoing enrollment and number of clinical hours completed is required from your Faculty of Nursing. Preferred Qualifications Able to fulfill 12hour shifts with day, night and weekend availability in the summer. Interest in emergency nursing and/or experience in the emergency department preferred.
