We recently released our debut game, Mayhem in Single Valley, with publisher tinyBuild (Potion Craft, Hello Neighbour, and more). We are looking for talent interested in being part of a full-production application for our latest IP. We are seeking a Technical Lead to define, guide, and own the technical direction of an action-exploration puzzle game built in Unity. This role is ideal for a senior programmer who enjoys shaping architecture, making high-level technical decisions, and supporting a multidisciplinary team through a full production cycle. Selected candidates may be included in the funding proposal, with employment and compensationcontingent on successful funding approval. Game Info We recently finished prototyping our new game IP, Ammonite. We are applying for full-production funding and plan to begin in Q3 or Q4 2026. We are looking for talent to include in the funding application who are interested in future work. Ammonite is an action exploration puzzle game where you control The Shell, a flying biomechanical creature that interacts with fantastical digital environments by recording and emitting light, sound, and vibration. Your mission? Infiltrate a hostile, AI-controlled virtual server to retrieve critical military files. Traverse a puzzle-laden world, battling enemies and forging alliances with peaceful entities. Upgrade abilities and access restricted zones to uncover the rogue AIs true agenda. Summary The Technical Lead will be responsible for defining and maintaining the games technical architecture, pipelines, and core systems. This role combines hands-on development with technical leadership, ensuring systems are scalable, performant, and production-ready while supporting designers, artists, and other programmers throughout development. Responsibilities and Duties Define and own the overall technical architecture of the project Design, implement, and maintain core gameplay and engine-level systems using Unity and C# Establish and enforce coding standards, architectural patterns, and best practices Build and oversee foundational systems such as player controllers, ability frameworks, AI systems, save/load pipelines, and state management Identify, prototype, and de-risk technically complex or high-risk features early in production Collaborate closely with game design, art, and production to ensure technical feasibility and scalability Support and mentor other programmers Make informed technical trade-offs in support of creative vision, scope, and production realities Qualifications and Skills Deep understanding of software architecture, game programming paradigms, and system design Proven experience building and maintaining complex Unity-based game systems Strong expertise in player movement, abilities, physics, AI behaviour, pathfinding, state machines, and persistence Experience supporting multidisciplinary teams in a production environment Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
