Job Title

We are looking for an experienced Chief Estimator to lead the estimating function for a well-established general contractor. This is a leadership role responsible for driving accurate cost estimation, managing tender processes, and supporting business growth through competitive bid strategies. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the estimating team through full tender lifecycle Prepare and review detailed cost estimates (labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors) Analyze drawings, specifications, and project scope Manage bid submissions and tender closings within deadlines Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and business development teams Perform risk analysis and cost forecasting Identify value engineering and cost-saving opportunities Build and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors Review and validate quantity take-offs and pricing Support budgeting across Class D to Class A estimates Technical Requirements Strong experience in construction estimating (ICI projects) Expertise in: Concrete, excavation, and civil/site work (Div 2 & 3) Quantity take-offs and unit-rate pricing Experience with tendering, bid management, and cost planning Ability to review geotechnical and site reports Proficiency in tools like Excel, Procore, Bluebeam, or similar Qualifications 10+ years of experience in construction estimating Experience leading large-scale construction bids/projects Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field Knowledge of CCDC contracts is an asset Certifications like P.Eng, Gold Seal, or LEED are a plus What Were Looking For Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
