Duration : 12 months Location : Remote Global (flexible; EST overlap is required in the first few months, later on is not required) Contract : Freelance or Permanent (We are open for both) About the Project The Manual QA Tester is the final quality gate for all front-end and embedded application development within the program. The feedback cycle is intentionally short and fast developers hand off to the tester immediately after peer code review, with no queue in between. The tester must be ready to engage, test, and return results quickly. Beyond executing test cases, the tester must understand the Reacts Nova system holistically. Fortunately, the new system is less complex than Philips legacy platform, which will accelerate ramp-up. The ability to see the full picture not just individual test scenarios is what makes someone truly effective in this role. What You Will Be Doing Receive code handoffs directly from developers immediately after peer review and execute manual test cycles without delay Test front-end and embedded software components against defined requirements, UX standards (DLS/Filament), and security compliance expectations Return clear, well-documented defect reports to developers; the volume and nature of returns are actively tracked as a quality indicator Collaborate closely with developers to understand what was built and what the handoff test instructions specify Validate embedded components against the demo/test application provided by engineers and contribute to integration quality reports Participate in sprint reviews and PI planning sessions within the Reacts SAFe framework Write basic automation scripts where applicable to supplement manual test coverage Maintain test documentation throughout the engagement and support knowledge transfer at close What We Are Looking For Proven experience as a manual QA tester on software products ideally in a fast-cycle, agile development environment Ability to understand a software system end-to-end and test it intelligently, not just execute scripts in isolation Strong attention to detail able to identify functional defects, UX inconsistencies, and compliance gaps Clear, concise written communication defect reports and test notes must be unambiguous and actionable Experience working closely alongside developers in short feedback-loop environments Familiarity with JIRA or similar sprint/defect tracking tools General understanding of CI/CD environments and how software is built, deployed, and released Familiarity with AWS environments or cloud-hosted applications is a plus General awareness of audio/video or real-time communication applications is helpful for understanding what is being tested Automation Beneficial, Not Mandatory There is no formal test automation framework required for this engagement. However, candidates who can supplement manual testing with basic automation scripts will add meaningful value to the team. Strong manual testing fundamentals are the priority.
