CLAIMS SUMMER STUDENT Job Title: Claims Summer Student Reports to: Lead, Claims Status: 4-month contract (May-August 2026) Direct Reports: None Travel Requirements: None Number of Vacancies: 1 Office Hours: 8:30AM 4:30PM The Healthcare Insurance Reciprocal of Canada (HIROC) is a trusted healthcare safety advisor, committed to offering a full spectrum of insurance, risk and claims management products and support. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist Claims Administration team with day-to-day responsibilities supporting the Claims Department Assist with filing/tasking vendor reports to claim files Assist with process improvement projects including but not limited to file reviews and data clean-up Assist members of the Claims department upon request Other duties as required KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Well organized and self-motivated Strong problem-solving skills Attention to detail and accuracy High ability to prioritize Strong information management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Computer literacy of Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel, Word, Outlook) Works well in a team environment and individually EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: High school diploma Previous experience in an office environment is ideal Most importantly, you are an enthusiastic and creative thinker, who is constantly driving performance improvement and is passionate about creating the safest healthcare system possible for Canadians HOURS OF WORK: Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm WORKING CONDITIONS: Working at a computer for most of the day HIROC is committed to a hybrid work environment, which includes 2 days per week in office, with departments meeting in person at least two times per month, as per HIROCs Hybrid Work Policy.
