Senior Technical Project Manager Core Banking Modernisation Location: Toronto (Hybrid 2 days onsite) Start Date: ASAP Overview of the Role - We are urgently seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager (Program Manager calibre) to lead one of five Agile squads within a major core banking modernization program. This is a highpressure, highly technical, fastmoving environment, with each squad operating at the complexity level of a small program. What we are Looking for - A highly technical Senior Project Manager who: Has delivered dataheavy and infrastructurefocused programs/projects endtoend Possesses strong data modeling and data structure knowledge Has deep understanding of infrastructure (environments, containers, OCP, DevOps, cloud technologies, etc.) Has practical, handson SDLC experience Can manage complex dependencies across multiple Agile squads Can operate at the Program Manager level, even though the formal title will be Project Manager Is senior enough to manage a foundational squad supporting all other squads Is confident working in a pure Agile environment Must-Haves - Technical Skills: Data modeling and data structures Experience delivering data feeds across systems and teams Strong infrastructure knowledge, including: OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) Kubernetes and container technologies CI/CD pipelines Cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS acceptable) Onprem to cloud migration patterns Environment setup sequencing and dependency mapping Delivery Skills: Extensive experience leading largescale technical programs or highly complex projects Strong, practical SDLC understanding Full Agile delivery experience, including: Daily standups PI Planning Squadbased execution Collaboration with Agile Centres of Excellence Experience as a Project Manager within a multisquad Agile program Soft / Contextual Requirements: Must be physically located in Toronto Must attend the office two days per week Able to work effectively under high complexity, tight deadlines, and heavy crossteam dependencies Nice-to-Haves Previous CIBC experience Background as a developer or engineer Banking domain knowledge (e.g., core banking systems such as ICBS) Relevant certifications such as: PMP Agile / Scrum / SAFe Data or cloudrelated certifications
