Job Description

What is the opportunity? The STP Centre of Excellence (CoE) comprises three pillars: Policy, Implementation and Governance & Controls (G&C). Policy establishes Transfer Pricing Policy (applicable methodology to achieve armslength pricing) for RBC, while Implementation processes those recommendations. G&C establishes controls and oversight to ensure both Policy and Implementation are working to provide intended results accurately, efficiently and effectively. What will you do? The Director of STP Governance and Controls establishes the CoEs control framework to ensure RBC satisfies all global STP requirements while working closely with Taxation to ensure RBC entities reflect the appropriate allocations for tax return purposes. The Governance & Controls (G&C) pillar acts as the centre for all STP audit queries from internal, external and tax auditors. G&C will coordinate with Tax, Policy and Implementation to formulate responses accurately and on time. Develop and establish control framework to oversee other STP pillars (Implementation and Policy) to ensure completeness and accuracy of transaction processing. Develop and establish controls to monitor the automation tools (Oracle) calculation and posting (Posting Express) to subledgers through to General Ledger (EPM). Display leadership abilities to engage a team of 7 to drive to impact and achieve team goals. Develop reporting (Tableau) to enhance the control framework as well as meet stakeholder requirements and requests. Promote and establish controls and guidance for onboarding TP transactions currently maintained outside of STP into the Centre of Excellence (COE). Develop and improve analysis, calculations and metrics to improve overall control framework across all pillars. Drive automation and efficiency improvements through reporting and reengineering processes. Develop, maintain and enhance controls and governance around monthly entries through automation and standardization. Engage Financial Controllers and business stakeholders to promote STP and drive improvements. Develop controls to identify and remediate potential transfer pricing transaction control weaknesses such as duplication or incorrect / inconsistent allocations. Establish operating procedures across all pillars to ensure uptodate documentation and suggest key improvements to enhance efficiencies and mitigate control weaknesses. What do you need to succeed? Musthave Work experience: minimum 510 years of postqualification experience, preferably in the financial services industry. Accounting designation (CA, CPA). Leader who will engage and inspire the G&C teams growth and development. Leader who will engage with stakeholders to promote the STP brand globally and act as a key business partner. Exposure / understanding of Transfer Pricing theory. Knowledge of international corporate taxation. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to successfully lead a team through change. Organized and processoriented individual while able to see the big picture. Curious, innovative and solutionoriented: desire to lead reengineering processes and understand the details, improve implementation and drive impactful change. Nicetohave Working knowledge of financial and managerial accounting systems within RBC would be an asset. Ideally, have worked in a Big 4 accounting firm in the financial services industry and/or at RBC. Data analytics background would be an asset. Strong technical skills, exposure to Oracle and/or Tableau. Whats in it for you?
