As a Senior Manager, you will use significant expertise and high judgment to design team structures and strategies to meet longterm business goals in areas where problems and strategies are not yet defined. You will lead other leaders to set and execute on the vision. You will also drive hiring and developing engineers, helping them meet and exceed their career goals. You''''ll manage multiple teams and leverage your strong technical ability, excellent project management skills, great communication skills, and motivation to achieve results. You will be responsible for services that can be deployed globally, delivering an exceptional customer experience, providing thought leadership in a fastpaced development environment, and partnering with product management and senior leaders to ensure the longterm success of Goodreads. Key job responsibilities Design team structures and strategies to deliver experiences used by millions of readers Lead software development execution, ensuring teams deliver highquality systems that meet business goals and operational requirements Hire barraising talent and grow leaders through coaching and strategic project assignment Identify opportunities to leverage central Amazon systems and assess when custom solutions are appropriate Own relationships with operations teams, business teams, and technology partners across Amazon Set standards for operational excellence and process improvement Champion AInative development practices enabling significant productivity gains Basic Qualifications 10+ years of engineering experience 5+ years of engineering team management experience 10+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering consumer software experience Experience partnering with product or program management teams Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment Preferred Qualifications Experience designing and developing large scale, hightraffic applications Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. As a total compensation company, Amazon''''s package may include other elements such as signon payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
