Your role Lead a team of junior and intermediate engineers, provide mentoring, coaching, and training to develop longterm corporate assets. Work closely with and supervise PLiM/PLEX consultants, contractors and vendor service teams during normal plant operation and outage cycles. Apply PLiM/PLEX knowledge, agerelated degradation mechanisms, systematic maintenance assessment and FMEA techniques to implement plantspecific methodologies that proactively mitigate risks and enhance plant life, reliability and safety. Support the technical lead in conceptual and detailed plant life management and life extension activities, including systems decomposition, system analysis, criticality analysis, task selection and vulnerability assessments. Coordinate with other disciplines to provide mechanical and equipment engineering input for technical deliverables such as specifications, plant layout, inspection and test procedures, commissioning plans and registration design submissions for NPP components and mechanical systems. Provide technical advice for plant life management of critical systems and equipment, covering pumps, fans, motors, valves, heat exchangers, steam generators, pressure vessels, tanks, piping, HVAC systems, steam turbines, condensers, generators and related mechanical components. Define project scopes, monitor and report progress, and communicate with clients. Conduct site visits to nuclear generating stations for inspection, testing, condition monitoring and recommend preventive maintenance plans. Assist other engineers and branch managers with daily engineering activities. About You Engineering degree from an accredited university in Mechanical, Process or Nuclear Engineering. Registered Professional Engineer in Ontario, qualified to seal engineering documents. Proven plant life management and extension experience, preferably in CANDU, fossil fuel power stations, petrochemical plants or oil refineries. Strong team player with interdiscipline coordination experience and a background in maintenancebased design and risk assessment. Solid understanding of large rotating machines, static equipment, material selection and fundamentals of machine component design. Experience in equipment sizing, selection and troubleshooting at plant sites. Experience with SAM software and support for its use. Working knowledge of nuclear pressure boundary codes such as CSA N285.0, ASME SectionsIII and other applicable standards. Experience in PLiM/PLEX, aging mechanisms and mitigation methodologies to enhance equipment life and safety. Knowledge of CANDU maintenancebased design philosophies and strategies. Indepth knowledge of agerelated degradation mechanisms (ARDMs) on systems, structures and components. Field experience in prevention and mitigation strategies addressing ARDMrelated issues. Proficiency with condition and life assessments of passive components and SAM analyses of active components. Knowledge of maintenance theory (runto, conditionbased, timebased) and FMECA. Experience developing and using equipment maintenance templates and integrating them into software systems. Understanding of repairandreplace (RR) strategies and influencing factors. Strong written and oral communication and technical report writing skills. Willingness to travel to project sites as required; initial site location is the Mississauga head office. Additional, Preferred Qualifications Historical knowledge of CANDU plantrelevant equipment and components. Handson software knowledge. Experience with CSA B51, ANSI B31.1, ASME SectionVIII and other nuclear plant applicable standards or regulatory guides.
