Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in mathematical concepts and fostering a positive learning environment. This role requires strong communication skills, creativity in lesson planning, and the ability to engage students effectively. The Instructor will play a crucial role in shaping the educational experience and ensuring that students achieve their learning objectives. This is a part-time, on-site role as a Course Instructor at UCMAS Glen Abbey, located in Oakville, ON. As a Course Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching children the UCMAS program, which includes using the Abacus tool, mental arithmetic calculations, and developing visualization skills. You will guide and motivate students, monitor their progress, and provide feedback. This position is also an excellent supplementary role for current primary school educators. Duties Implement engaging lesson plans that meet curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles Deliver instructional content through various teaching methods, including classroom based instruction and hands-on activities Assess student performance and providing constructive feedback to support their growth. Create a supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for learning Collaborate with colleagues to enhance instructional practices and share resources. Stay updated on educational best practices and participate in professional development opportunities Experience Previous teaching or instructional experience is highly desirable as is passion for working with children Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues A passion for education and a commitment to student success are essential qualities for this role Strong mathematics and arithmetic skills Excellent communication and presentation skills Patience and ability to adapt teaching methods to individual students based on individual needs Attention to detail and ability to creatively follow lesson plans Ability to work in a team and collaborate with other instructors Experience with Abacus and/or mental arithmetic is a plus UCMAS experience would be highly beneficial Join us in making a difference in the lives of our students by providing them with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed!
