Job Title: Civil Supervisor - Earthworks Location: Toronto, ON with frequent travel to Nevada, USA Length: 1 Year (with potential extension) Role Summary The Civil Supervisor (Earthworks) is responsible for supervising and coordinating civil and earthwork activities for the construction of a leach pad in Nevada. This role oversees contractor performance, ensures compliance with engineering requirements, and supports the successful execution of earthworks, civil works, piping installation, and liner installation. The position plays a key role in quality assurance, progress monitoring, and coordination with engineering stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Supervise and support the construction of a leach pad, including: earthworks and civil works, underground and above-ground piping works, installation of liners Monitor, audit, and control contractor progress to ensure schedule and quality compliance. Perform QA/QC oversight of construction activities to ensure work meets project specifications and standards. Validate quantities of completed work for contractor invoicing and payment certification. Communicate and coordinate design changes with the engineering firm. Review, respond to, and manage Requests for Information (RFIs). Coordinate and resolve engineering-related issues arising during construction. Ensure effective communication between site, contractors, and engineering teams. Role Scope Acts as the primary on-site supervisory interface between contractors and engineering teams. Ensures construction activities align with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements. Supports cost control and schedule adherence through accurate quantity validation and progress tracking. Contributes to overall project success through proactive issue resolution and coordination. Qualifications & Requirements Civil Engineering background or relevant engineering discipline. Proven experience in: mining projects, leach pad construction, heavy civil construction supervision Strong knowledge of earthworks, civil works, and construction sequencing. Experience with contract administration and contractor management. Self-motivated professional with strong communication and coordination skills. Highly skilled in project and construction communication. Legally eligible and able to work in the United States. Working Conditions Site-based role with frequent travel to Nevada. Active construction environment with regular interaction with contractors and engineering teams. Project duration of one year with potential for extension based on project needs.
