Job Description

Senior Geologist Position Summary: Reporting to the COO Mining, the Senior Geologist is responsible for supporting exploration and development projects across various regions, including operations in Ontario, Canada. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in mineral exploration, resource estimation, and geological modeling. The ideal candidate will be a strong technical leader capable of managing complex projects, interpreting large datasets, and contributing strategic geological insights in a remote work environment. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage geological exploration programs, including target generation and validation Conduct detailed geological mapping, structural analysis, and core logging Perform geological data interpretation using advanced software (e.g., Leapfrog, ArcGIS, Datamine) Develop and manage 3D geological models to define ore bodies and estimate resources Oversee and contribute to resource and reserve calculations in accordance with industry standards (e.g., NI 43-101) Prepare high-quality technical reports, presentations, and summaries for internal and external stakeholders Collaborate with geophysicists, geochemists, and engineers to integrate multidisciplinary data Provide geological expertise and guidance to exploration and mining teams Stay current with advancements in geological techniques, software, and exploration technologies Mentor junior geologists and support their professional development Develop and implement exploration strategies aligned with organizational objectives Conduct due diligence investigations and peer reviews of geological data and reports Manage budgets and project timelines for geological fieldwork and analysis Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental protocols during all exploration activities Represent the organization in technical meetings and stakeholder discussions Qualifications: Masters degree in Geology or a related earth science discipline Minimum of 810 years of progressive experience in mineral exploration and resource geology, preferably with a focus on critical minerals such as graphite Professional Geologist (P.Geo) designation or eligibility required Strong proficiency in geological modeling software (e.g., Leapfrog Geo, Vulcan, Micromine) and GIS software Demonstrated experience in resource estimation and compliance with reporting standards (e.g., JORC, NI 43-101) Experience with graphite is considered an asset Skills and Competencies: Proven ability to lead and manage complex geological projects Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills Strong technical writing and presentation abilities Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a remote environment Experience with geological field methods and data acquisition techniques Familiarity with geochemical and geophysical exploration methods Strong communication and interpersonal skills
