With a focus on innovation and excellence, Aw Shucks! fosters a team-oriented and inclusive work environment. Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for an Executive Chef. The Executive Chef will oversee daily kitchen operations, manage food preparation and presentation, and ensure high standards of food quality and safety. Responsibilities include menu planning, inventory control, staff training, and cost management, as well as maintaining strong collaboration with the restaurant management team. Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards Plan menus and create new dishes Supervise and train kitchen staff (line cooks, prep cooks, etc.) Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet standards Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen Monitor inventory and order supplies as needed Control food costs and minimize waste Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations Coordinate with management and front-of-house staff for smooth service Qualifications Proven skills in menu planning, culinary creativity, and food preparation with a focus on seafood dishes Strong leadership abilities including team management, staff training, and effective delegation Knowledge of food safety standards, inventory control, and kitchen budgeting Experience in managing kitchen operations, ensuring consistency, and delivering quality guest experiences Adaptability, problem-solving, and time management skills in high-pressure environments Ability to work long hours Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a fine dining or upscale casual setting Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays Culinary diploma or equivalent certification in the culinary arts is highly desirable A passion for seafood and a commitment to delivering innovative and memorable dishes Starting salary $75,000/annually
