Position Summary RTR Media Inc. is looking for a Production Controller to oversee the production accounting function for all US and Canadian non-union/non-scripted shows and pilots in production. This role will be primarily responsible for the accounting, payroll and reporting for projects in all stages of production. This position is a full-time, permanent role and will report to the Director of Finance and CEO. Responsibilities Take on full ownership of the company production accounting function. Manage one full-time team member and oversee any part-time and casual production accounting staff Set up new production companies as they arise including the setup of separate production bank accounts, and third-party payment services. Take ownership over the daily accounting activity including processing payroll, vendor payments, settling inter company transactions, reconciling all bank accounts, submission of periodic government filings, etc. Prepare tax credit estimates, production cash flows and finance plans for all prospective and projects in production. Prepare and/or assist in the filing of Canadian and US film tax credit applications and other regulatory fillings. Maintain accurate and complete supporting documentation for tax credit and revenue agencies. Prepare production cost reports and other month-end reports on a monthly basis for review by corporate finance and the production team. Conduct detailed reviews of general ledger account activity to ensure transactions are accurately recorded in the appropriate accounts and expense categories. Monitor receivables and billing milestones for broadcasters and other funding partners, issue invoices upon milestone completion, and follow up on outstanding balances. Prepare all audit-related accounting reports, including provincial and federal tax credit calculations and schedules, Canadian and non-Canadian cost breakdowns, reconciliations of key accounts, and vendor and related-party reporting. Support the preparation and submission of financial production reports required by banks, broadcasters, and funding agencies. Assist team with ad hoc tasks and projects as they arise. Desired Qualifications 3+ years of experience in production accounting. CPA designation preferred. High proficiency in various production accounting systems, including Entertainment Partners suite of products. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Must be responsive, reliable, and highly organized. Ability to multi-task and re-assess priorities as needed. Strong ability to learn new software and skills. Experience with Canadian and US film tax credits and incentives is an asset. US payroll experience is an asset.
