Job Description Posting #: REF9645V Union: CUPE Number of Vacancies: 1 New or Replacement: Replacement Site: Toronto Rehab - University Centre Department: Brain Program - Inpatient and Outpatient Services Reports to: Allied Health Manager Hours: 1.0 FTE Wage range: $33.92 - $34.42 per hour. Start rate nonnegotiable. Status: Temporary FullTime, 1 year Shifts: Weekdays/Weekends Posted Date: March 12, 2026 Closing Date: March 19, 2026 Responsibilities Float assignment across inpatient units and outpatient services in the Brain Program Under the direction of the Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapist, supervise or assist with individual patient treatment programs Assist in or conduct group activity/exercise programs Assist client to practice with assistive or adaptive equipment Instruct and demonstrate the safe use of therapeutic equipment Assist in the implementation of new occupational therapy and/or physiotherapy programmes and research projects Monitor and report changes in health status to the supervising OT or PT Participate in professional, programme and hospitalwide initiatives Set up and cleanup of patient treatment areas Assist with maintaining equipment and supplies inventory Qualifications Successful completion of combined Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Assistant diploma from a recognised Community College Basic Cardiac Life Support (C Level) Heart Saver Plus Canada and nonviolent crisis intervention training Knowledge of the rehabilitation approach to patient care and the roles of Occupational and Physical Therapy Knowledge of equipment, e.g., wheelchair supplies and seating equipment, etc. Experience in neurological rehabilitation preferred Effective and flexible team member with excellent communication and interpersonal skills Demonstrated computer skills Superior organisational and timemanagement skills Good attendance is essential Additional Information Why join UHN?
