Job Description

Overview Harbinger Network is seeking a relationship-driven Customer Relationship Manager to support the continued growth of a well-established structural steel fabrication organization. Reporting directly to the Vice President/President, this role is responsible for maintaining strong relationships with existing clients while identifying new business opportunities within the construction industry. The successful candidate will work closely with contractors, developers, and project teams involved in industrial, commercial, and institutional (ICI) construction projects. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building long-term partnerships, identifying opportunities early in the project cycle, and positioning their organization as a trusted construction partner. Key Responsibilities Client Relationship Management Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, developers, and industry stakeholders Maintain regular communication with key clients to support long-term partnerships and repeat business Represent the company at meetings, job sites, and industry events Business Development Identify upcoming development opportunities through industry sources, planning applications, and construction publications Research market activity using platforms such as industry news sites, planning portals, and LinkedIn Conduct outreach to prospective clients through networking, cold calls, and relationship-building activities Tender & Project Pipeline Management Work closely with the estimating team to identify and prioritize tender opportunities Review tender requests and participate in weekly estimating meetings Follow up on submitted bids and maintain communication with contractors throughout the bidding process Support final negotiations and contract discussions as projects move toward award Contract & Project Coordination Assist with contract reviews and documentation during the negotiation process Coordinate with project managers and contractors to help establish project schedules Support the preparation of documentation required for project execution Supplier & Market Coordination Maintain strong relationships with steel suppliers and specialty manufacturers such as joist and deck providers Support coordination of material purchases with the estimating team Monitor steel market trends and material cost fluctuations that impact project pricing Internal Collaboration Work closely with estimating, project management, and senior leadership teams Ensure project opportunities align with production capacity and business priorities Maintain accurate records of client activity and sales data in the company CRM system Industry Engagement The Customer Relationship Manager will play an active role in representing the company within the construction industry by attending networking events, association meetings, and industry functions. Participation in organizations such as the Canadian Institute of Steel Construction (CISC), the Grand Valley Construction Association (GVCA), and similar groups is encouraged. Travel & Work Environment This position includes a combination of office-based work and travel to client meetings, job sites, and industry events. Primary travel territory includes: Greater Toronto Area (west of Yonge Street) Southwestern Ontario through Windsor Qualifications Minimum 3 years of experience in the construction or structural steel industry, ideally in an estimating capacity Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple projects and opportunities simultaneously Highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently Proficiency with Excel, Word, Teams, and CRM systems must be an intermediate golfer able to work unusual hours from time to time when attending events Why This Role? 95-135K annually to start excellent benefits package 3 weeks vacation to start close knit team work in an autonomous manner Contact Harbinger Network to apply: Harbinger Network Inc. is a Canadian-based firm that serves companies across Canada and USA, a diverse Network of Recruiters, and expertise in over 10 major disciplines.
