Standard hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Salary Scale Job Description This is a Temporary contract assignment for up to Eleven (11) Months Sinai Health is looking for a Chart Room Clerk to support our Mount Sinai Academic Family Health Team at our Vaughan location. The role of the Chart Room Clerk is pivotal due to the high volume of documents that this individual processes, significantly contributing to the efficiency of information and patient flow and the criticality of maintaining accurate medical records. Responsibilities include daily maintenance of the electronic patient medical record, accurately filing results, reports and other health record related materials electronically and managing the offsite storage of paper charts. In this role you will: Respond to telephone and onsite requests for records and information related to patient files Scan patient medical reports and systematically organize and file electronic reports into relevant categories Process prescription requests Post lab reports into patient chart for review and sign off Redirect reports to respective providers Ensure patient safety and timely access by identifying high priority tasks Complete quality control of patient medical records Pick-up, distribute/sort, and drop-off of department mail Maintain chart room and supplies Maintain security and confidentiality of patient information Perform other duties consistent with the job classification as required Job Requirements Mandatory Successful completion of a medical administrative diploma or its equivalent from a recognized program 1 year of experience working in an electronic medical record (EMR) program Preferred 1 year of experience in health records Skills and Knowledge Knowledge of medical terminology Proficiency with Windows applications Ability to speak, read, write and/or understand verbal instructions in English Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines Excellent telephone and in person customer service skills Good organization and time-management skills Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history If this sounds like you and you feel ready to build your career within health care, apply now and let us know why youd be a great addition to our team.
