Role Overview: Our Toronto office is currently recruiting for a Trust Officer to join our Accounting Department this role will be reporting to the Trust Supervisor. The successful candidate must be able to work independently as well as being flexible with great customer service skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for: Processing (recording) trust transactions in ELITE 3E. Initiating bank transactions of trust funds through online portals. Reviewing all trust instructions for compliance with Firm policies. Preparing bank deposits, wire instructions to banks and trust cheques. Placing and liquidating investments of clients trust funds, as instructed. Ad hoc analyses and reporting on trust activity. Reviewing and filing of trust instruction documentation and escrow agreements. The successful candidate must have the following education, experience and/or demonstrated skills: 1-3 years of Trust experience Degree / diploma in accounting or business. Previous experience in a similar role in a law firm is required Detail oriented with good communication & organizational skills. Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly EXCEL. Knowledge of provincial law societies trust rules and regulations, an asset. Familiarity with ELITE 3E and online cash management banking software, an asset.
