Maintenance Supervisor Summary The Maintenance Supervisor leads daily maintenance operations to ensure equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and support production targets. This role is responsible for supervising maintenance staff, coordinating preventative and corrective maintenance, and driving continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Oversee maintenance activities to ensure all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and meets production and quality requirements Plan, schedule, and execute preventative maintenance programs to reduce unplanned downtime Coordinate and prioritize corrective repairs, ensuring timely resolution of equipment issues Supervise, coach, and support maintenance team members; assign tasks based on priorities, skills, and workload Monitor maintenance KPIs, analyze performance data, and implement improvements to increase reliability and efficiency Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, equipment history, spare parts, and inventory levels Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions Collaborate with operations, engineering, quality, and purchasing teams to support production needs and resolve technical challenges Manage relationships with external contractors and vendors, including cost control and service quality Support continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles Enforce health, safety, environmental, and quality standards; ensure safe work practices and investigate incidents when required Assist with capital projects, including equipment installations, upgrades, and process improvements Qualifications Strong knowledge of industrial maintenance practices, including mechanical, electrical, and automated systems Experience with preventative maintenance systems, planning, and scheduling Proven leadership experience supervising and developing maintenance or technical teams Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis Understanding of health, safety, environmental, and quality standards in a manufacturing environment Experience with maintenance metrics, reporting, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., lean manufacturing) Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities Effective communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams Familiarity with inventory management, spare parts control, and contractor coordination
