Overview Join the team at Koch Glitsch & John Zink as a Field Service Technician for a remote position with travel servicing assigned territories. Typically up to 90% travel to customer sites. Youu2019ll be responsible for providing all-encompassing support, including preventative maintenance, emergency assistance, troubleshooting, automation support, and commissioning for new and existing equipment. What You Will Do Provide installation supervision, troubleshooting and maintenance recommendations to customers. Demonstrate operational and functional knowledge of register burners, duct burners or utility burners and possess mechanical aptitude to learn complex systems. Communicate with PLCs, PLC logic, and HMIs; have rudimentary knowledge of electrical design and wiring skills. Travel regularly to customer job sites (up to ~90%). Compensation: typical base pay range at start of employment is $50 to $65 CAD per hour, potentially higher with industry experience. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) Experience with register burners, duct burners or utility burners. Experience with PLCs and PLC programming for controlling combustion equipment or similar equipment. Ability to travel to job sites approximately 90% of the time. Valid passport or ability to obtain one. Valid Driveru2019s License. Candidate must live within an 80 km radius of a major airport. Physical requirements Lift up to 75 lb occasionally and 50 lb routinely; able to bend, stoop, crawl and maneuver around skidded equipment and piping. Hearing and color vision requirements; able to see clearly up close and at distance. Work may be performed in outdoor environments with long workdays on occasion. What Will Put You Ahead 2-year technical degree from an accredited college or trade school in a mechanically-based technical major, OR 4 years of military service working with boilers. Experience with burners, duct burners, or utility burners. Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs in combustion or steam generation industries. Field work experience in the petrochemical, power generation, pulp & paper or food processing industries. Gas Fitter A Certification. Ability to perform hands-on work in the US.
