Engineering Manager Console UI As the Engineering Manager for the ConsoleUI team, youll lead and grow a frontendfocused engineering team responsible for shaping the user experience of a new, strategic platform initiative. Your team will build admin and developerfacing interfaces that make complex security and infrastructure capabilities usable, intuitive, and trustworthy. Youll partner closely with Product, Design, Identity, Security, and Backend Platform teams to translate foundational runtime systems into clear workflows for configuring machine identities, managing secure integrations, defining access controls, and auditing activity. This is a foundational team not a feature team at the edgesdefining how customers experience an entirely new layer of 1Password. Youll mentor engineers, create a culture of frontend excellence, and set technical direction for a UI surface that must scale in both complexity and impact. Balancing rapid iteration with longterm architectural thinking, youll ensure the Console evolves into a cohesive, reliable experience as the platform grows. This role requires comfort operating in ambiguity and helping shape both product and organizational boundaries. This is a remote opportunity within Canada and the U.S. What Were Looking For Experience managing and mentoring a team of frontend or fullstack developers in a product environment A track record of delivering impactful userfacing features with predictable execution Strong product and UX instincts, especially when translating complex technical systems into intuitive experiences Technical fluency in modern frontend architectures and the ability to engage deeply in architectural discussions Experience defining team direction and roadmaps in partnership with Product and Design Strong crossfunctional collaboration skills across engineering, security, and platform teams Clear, effective communication skills across organizational levels Experience leading remote or distributed teams across multiple time zones What You Can Expect Lead, mentor, grow, and retain a highperformance team of developers building the core frontend admin and developerfacing experiences for a new strategic platform initiative Define the teams mission and direction, translating company strategy into a clear roadmap and actionable execution plan Deliver highquality userfacing systems on time, driving measurable customer and business impact through clear goals, prioritization, and delivery practices Partner closely with Product, Design, Identity, Security, and Backend teams to align roadmaps, manage dependencies, and build cohesive, intuitive workflows on top of complex systems Establish and evolve the frontend technical strategy in collaboration with senior and staff engineers Maintain a high bar for usability, accessibility, performance, security, and longterm maintainability Foster a healthy, inclusive team culture rooted in accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement Actively manage performance, hire thoughtfully, and support meaningful career growth for your team Compensation USAbased roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between$192,000USD and$278,000USD, plus immediate participation in 1Passwords benefits program (health, dental, 401K and many others), utilization of generous paid time off, an equity grant, and, where applicable, participation in incentive programs.
