Job Description

Loombotic is a YC-backed manufacturing startup changing how complex manufacturing is done. We move fast, and were looking for a driven Hardware Engineer Intern to help us design, build, and deploy robotic machinery and custom automation that powers our factory floor. What youll be doing As a hardware engineer, you will work with our core engineering team to design, prototype, and deploy custom automated machinery and electromechanical fixtures from the ground up. You will bring 3D CAD models to life by integrating precision components like stepper motors, linear actuators, and sensor networks. A major part of your role will involve rapidly prototyping electromechanical systems to prove out new automation concepts and resolve production bottlenecks. Finally, you will build, test, and rigorously validate these mechanical assemblies to ensure their reliability on the production floor. Who were looking for Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Proficient in 3D CAD (SolidWorks, OnShape, etc.) with a strong drive to see your designs manufactured. Experience writing and debugging firmware (C/C++, Python) for embedded systems to control moving parts and read sensors. Practical experience building and assembling hardware: familiarity with 3D printers, machining, hand tools, and basic soldering. Adaptable and effective in a fast-paced startup environment where you take real ownership of your projects. How to stand out A strong portfolio showcasing personal robotics, mechatronics, or hardware projects youve built. Microcontroller expertise, specifically hands-on experience with the ESP32 ecosystem and IoT applications. Experience with PCB design (Altium, KiCad, etc.) and routing custom boards from schematic to assembly. Full-stack web development experience for building internal tools, dashboards, or interfaces that talk directly to hardware. Join a fast-growing, YC-backed startup that is automating complex manufacturing processes. High-impact work: Your designs won''''t sit on a hard drive. They will be built, tested, and deployed to the factory floor in days, not months. #J-18808-Ljbffr
