About the Team The Motion Estimation Team plays a key role in the software development of AV/ADAS systems at General Motors. This team is responsible for delivering integrated and tested software for various GM features, including Super Cruise, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Centering, Lane Keep Assist and others. As a part of Motion Estimation team, you will be part of fast-paced software team to deliver innovative solutions for customer facing features such as Super Cruise in ADAS Organization. Key Responsibilities This role is part of the ADAS Motion Estimation Software team, developing production software for advanced driver assistance systems. Focus areas include implementation, testing, and integration of motion estimation functions. Design, implement, and integrate ADAS software solutions, with a focus on vehicle motion estimation and related state estimation functions within production ECUs Develop and maintain code in C and Simulink, following automotive software best practices, coding standards, and configuration management processes Analyze and improve reliability, performance, and efficiency of motion estimation algorithms and embedded implementations, including profiling, optimization, and robustness improvements Create and maintain technical documentation, such as design specifications, interface definitions, test plans, and release notes to support cross-functional teams Perform unit testing and support in-vehicle testing, including test case development, issue triage, data analysis, and collaboration with validation and vehicle integration teams Required Qualifications Bachelor''''s, Masters or PhD degree in computer science, Engineering (Electrical, Computer, Mechatronics, System Design, Mechanical, Chemical or equivalent) Eligible for a 12 months internship (consecutive semesters), working full time hours (40 hours a week) Preferred Qualifications Experience in the state estimation domain, ideally with vehicle motion estimation, sensor fusion, or related control/estimation algorithms Embedded software experience/knowledge, including developing, debugging, and optimizing code on resource-constrained targets Software Product Line experience/knowledge, such as working with configurable architecture, reusable components, and feature variability management Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to both engineering and non-technical stakeholders Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to break down complex issues, prioritize effectively, and drive them to resolution The monthly salary range for this role is $4,264.00 to $5,200.00.
