Acting as a trusted advisor and coach to hiring managers, you will collaborate closely with Human Resources partners and cross-functional teams to identify current and future talent needs and implement effective sourcing strategies to attract top-tier candidates in support of SOCANs strategy, culture, and the needs of its members. Additionally, you will assist in tailoring and implementing talent and other HR solutions, including employee relations, culture and engagement, talent management, training and development, and employee communications support. You will support the HRBPs and HR leadership team in coaching and supporting leaders to execute their people and business strategies, while building and sustaining strong relationships. You will apply HR policies and procedures and leverage HR tools and best practices while partnering with the HR team to contribute to broader HR initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, values, and the needs of your client groups. WHAT YOULL DO / KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Talent Acquisition Responsibilities (80%): Proactively build and maintain strong relationships, connections, and understanding with hiring managers and employees, acting as a trusted talent acquisition advisor. Partner with HRBPs to support the end-to-end hiring process across the SOCAN Group of Companies. Lead recruitment and intake meetings. Build individualized talent acquisition plans aligned to client group and organizational talent needs and workforce strategy. Source candidates through job boards, LinkedIn, referrals, and other creative channels. Build, sustain, and manage relationships with industry and talent acquisition partners to maintain a diverse talent pipeline and candidate pools. Represent SOCAN at career events with schools, external partners and professional associations. Review resumes and conduct initial phone, video screenings, or interviewing. Coordinate and schedule interviews between candidates and hiring managers. Participate in or lead interviews as needed. Maintain consistent communication with candidates, hiring managers, HRBPs, and HR leadership throughout the process to ensure a positive candidate and hiring manager experience while ensuring compliance with all legislative requirements. Provide support to hiring team, HRBPs and HR leaders, during offer negotiations and hiring decisions. Track candidate progress using our applicant tracking system or internal tools and compiling required documentation. Draft employment agreements and offer letters using established guidelines and templates. Initiate background checks and conduct reference verifications. Create talent reports and leverages HR metrics and market data to initiate meaningful discussions and provide data-driven recommendations to leaders. Reply to questions from the public, employees, and outside agencies regarding current employment opportunities and application status. Maintain awareness of best practices, market trends and competition on talent acquisition. Track recruitment spending. Project, Programs, Policy: Manage the successful deployment and understanding of HR talent acquisition programs, policies and projects in a timely, efficient and proactive manner. Act as a change management ambassador to articulate and promote HR talent acquisition programs, policies and projects. Contribute to SOCANs recruitment strategy and lead talent acquisition initiatives and activities, including overseeing the implementation of recruitment-related diversity, equity, inclusion and anti-racism initiatives, and an internship program. HRBP Responsibilities (20%): Proactively support and assist HRBP team to: Build and maintain strong relationships, connections, and understanding with select client group leaders and employees, acting as a trusted advisor. Partner with leaders and the HR team to assess organizational structure, job design and talent needs. Provide advice and assistance to managers and employees on HR matters, escalating as required to mitigate risk, and assisting with action planning. Create reports and leverage HR metrics and market data to initiate meaningful discussions and provide data-driven recommendations to leaders. Support the annual performance management cycle, including talent review and succession and development planning, ensuring follow-up programs are delivered. Contribute to the representation and advocacy of organizational and specific departmental needs in enterprise-wide HR change management, program development and implementation (e.g., performance management, compensation analysis, succession planning, employee engagement, diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism), and special projects. Contribute to the development, implementation, and maintenance of HR policies, programs, and procedures, in keeping with relevant local legislation, SOCAN culture, and continuous improvement initiatives. Assist in the preparation of employee communications, training, and development. Facilitate onboarding and offboarding, leaves of absence and returns to work including coordinating logistics with appropriate teams (e.g., IT, HR shared services). Ensure proper employee documentation and records in HR systems, compiling documentation as needed. Participate in and manage ad hoc HR and business unit projects as assigned. Collaboration Between Team Members: Proactive sharing of information and trends within the team. Identifying and acting as back-up coverage for team absences to ensure continuity in client group support Proactively offering help and support to teammates, and holding self and others accountable for outcomes Focusing on the big picture and a solution-orientated approach WHAT YOU WILL BRING / QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in HR, Organizational Development, Business, or related field. 2+ years full-cycle recruitment experience HR experience, an asset Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HR systems, e.g. Dayforce.
