The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Legal Assistant (23+ years) to support a team of 23 lawyers, including a partner. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in civil litigation, with comprehensive knowledge of the rule of civil litigation who is looking to take on both administrative and substantive responsibilities. The successful candidate will be highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and take initiative in supporting busy litigation practices. Key Responsibilities Manage calendars, deadlines, and scheduling for lawyers Coordinate meetings, calls, and court appearances Prepare correspondence and assist with client communication Support billing and time entry processes Maintain and organize physical and electronic files Draft, format, and prepare litigation materials including pleadings and motion materials Assemble court materials and assist with filings through online court systems Upload and manage materials in CaseLines Maintain document organization and file management across matters Support lawyers on active litigation files, ensuring deadlines and procedural requirements are met Qualifications Minimum 23+ years of experience as a legal assistant or law clerk in a civil litigation environment Working knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure Experience supporting multiple lawyers in a fast-paced setting Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and Adobe Familiarity with CaseLines and online court filing systems Experience with NetDocuments or Soluno is an asset Skills & Attributes Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Proactive, go-getter mindset with the ability to take initiative Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines effectively Comfortable working in a fully in-office, team-oriented environment Compensation & Benefits Salary: $60,000 $80,000 3 weeks vacation RRSP matching up to 3% Comprehensive benefits package 10 flex days for personal appointments Work Arrangement Primarily in-office (5 days/week)
