The Role Were looking for a Procurement & Logistics Manager to lead sourcing, supplier management, inventory planning, and logistics at Urban Solar. This role is critical to ensuring that materials are available when needed, costs are optimized, and supply chain risks are actively managed. You will play a key role in supporting production performance and maintaining strong margins. This is not a maintenance role you will be expected to build and continuously improve systems as the company grows. This role is expected to grow in scope over time and has the potential to evolve into a Head of Operations role for a high-performing candidate as the company scales. Key Responsibilities Own procurement, inventory, and logistics performance, ensuring material availability, cost control, and operational reliability Own supplier strategy across domestic and international vendors Negotiate pricing, lead times, and contractual terms to optimize cost and cash flow Own cost performance across procurement, ensuring purchasing decisions support gross margin targets Build redundancy and risk mitigation into the supply chain Monitor supplier performance and establish structured scorecards Collaborate with Engineering on component selection and value engineering Manage inventory levels to balance working capital with service levels Forecast material requirements based on production plans Ensure accurate purchasing and inventory tracking within ERP systems Oversee inbound and outbound logistics across Canada and the U.S. Manage freight providers, shipping processes, and customs coordination Implement structured procurement and logistics processes Improve visibility and reporting across the supply chain Key Benefits Competitive salary commensurate with experience (Projected range of $80,000-$100,000) Annual profit-sharing bonuses Three weeks annual vacation to start Comprehensive medical and dental benefits Bi-weekly Flex Fridays $500 CAD annual health and fitness credit $1,000 CAD annual education credit Public transit/active commuting reimbursement High-quality snacks, coffee, and teas Team building events and meals Location This role will be in-person at our office located in Victoria, BC. What Youll Be Doing Reporting to the President and CEO, you will own procurement, inventory, and logistics performance at Urban Solar. You will be responsible for making tradeoffs between cost, lead time, and risk, and for ensuring that the supply chain supports production without disruption. You will be directly accountable for whether materials are available when needed, costs are controlled, and supply chain risks are proactively managed. You will have a single direct report, our Logistics and Order Fulfillment Specialist. Over time, this role has the potential to expand into broader operational leadership as the company grows, with increasing responsibility for overall operational performance. What Were Looking For 4+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or logistics Degree or diploma in operations management, supply chain management, business, engineering, or a related discipline Experience managing suppliers and negotiating contracts Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Experience working in a product-based or manufacturing environment Experience with ERP systems Ability to operate with ownership in a fast-paced environment Skills That Make You Stand Out Experience with international sourcing (Asia, North America, Europe) Familiarity with cross-border logistics (Canada/U.S.) Strong financial literacy and cost analysis skills Experience using AI tools to improve forecasting, procurement analysis, or process documentation Experience supporting scaling operations Experience improving or implementing procurement systems How to Apply If youre excited to contribute to building and scaling the operational systems behind thousands of solar-powered transit amenities across North America, wed love to hear from you.
